Saw an accident today (7-May-2014) around 4.50pm along PIE, near exit 26B.

From my view, involved two heavy vehicles.

I wonder why the car with siren (police or atos?) didn't stop to offer assistance but sped off?

That's a Mit Lancer, SPF don't use this vehicle, so mostly those auxillary police.

Maybe they're not empowered by TP, so minding their own business.

Looks like either the driver fell asleep while driving or one of the wheels lost traction causing it to spin.

Not within the jurisdiction of police since this is traffic accident?

SJP plate lancer, not police. Looks like port authority car or something. Driver thinking "sibeh heng no need to write report".

Lowlee lost rear traction, most likely due to hard braking+no load in the back, causing the rear to step out. Common with goods vehicles.

A lot of all these outsourced "rent-a-cop" out there. They only report to their paymaster. Public traffic matters not under their contract, not their business, So why stop to help??

Now is 2014, many "tan jiak" contracted cops out there. You want an "rent-a-cop" escort for wedding or event, also can do. Got business, sure they will do.

I actually saw the same thing happen to a lorry but in the opposite direction around the same area. It happened a few months back.

Not police, not his problem.

Come to think of it, police also don't care if no injuries isn't it.?
