A 12-year-old boy who was allegedly slashed by his mother, who was later found dead, is still in intensive care at the National University Hospital (NUH) and missed her cremation yesterday morning.

Seven relatives turned up at Mandai Crematorium to bid farewell to the 45-year-old woman, who was believed to have injured her son before taking her own life on Saturday morning.

She was found dead at the bottom of an apartment block in Bukit Timah, where they lived.

Her husband apparently did not witness the cremation, reported Chinese evening daily Shin Min Daily News.

 

 

this is so so sad that it happen before Mother's Day

which mother would do that to a 12 years old boy, unless she is mentally unsound. saw the news in wanbao and try to follow up with more detail but nothing found.

12 years old is very sensible already. Know a lot of things. Now that the mum is no longer around. Really sad for him. The knife scar will be small compare to the scar that will be in the heart for life

probably the mum wanted to kill the son and commit suicide, but the 12 years old able to defend himself... hence the injury from the slashes

the instinct to protect your young is hard wired into our brain for milliona of yrs.

like i said, we do not know enough about the circumstance to actually make such comments.

depression is just as bad as mental unsound conditions.

so, let's not judge this mother. yet.

Sometime all these festival can trigger extreme unhappiness for those who are depress. Mother's day, father's day, and especially Xmas and New Year eve, many suicide.

What the reasons, only the husband will know and either its up to him to come out and clear things up or coroner's enquiry.
