Jeroming Neutral Newbie May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 Hi guys. Seeing BMW vigorously promoting her Performance Direct leasing programme on FB recently. Any ideas the kind of pricing we are looking at? I tried the website but there were no details on the monthly payment required for the different models. What's the advantage (and disadvantages) of such a scheme? Will we end up paying more? Any hidden costs or clause? thanks. ↡ Advertisement
Wt_know Supersonic May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 (edited) it is to cater for people who cannot afford or don't want 50% downpayment and take loan (to maintain TDSR below 60%) leasing scheme for 7 years ... pay more but headache free everything is taken care of just like any car leasing company there is no rocket science in this arrangement if you have time to check their facebook, just give them a call to give you the details there will not publish the detail in facebook ... it's like an open book to merc and audi ... lol Edited May 15, 2014 by Wt_know
Watwheels Supersonic May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 Advantage is every couple of months you get to drive different models of BMW lor. No need pay road tax, insurance & etc. Disadvantage is you cannot zhng the car and you get nothing back at the end of it. Compared to owning a car you get some residue back if you sell/scarp your car. This kinda deal is only good for short term. Also good for young ppl who got bad driving record since they are not the ones paying car insurance. Good for ppl who like to hao lian, everytime change new car type. drivinghazard 2nd Gear May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 the pro is that they take care of everything, so your costs is fixed and predictable. Only variable is petrol, parking and ERP. And also no need for 50% DP. The con is that it is much more expensive than a outright purchase of a car.
Wt_know Supersonic May 15, 2014 Share May 15, 2014 short term leasing - change car every 3 months for different fun and the longggg term leasing of 7 years to circumvent the loophole of 50% downpayment and max 5 years loan is 2 different thing ... No need pay road tax, insurance & etc. Disadvantage is you cannot zhng the car and you get nothing back at the end of it. Jeroming Neutral Newbie May 16, 2014 Author Share May 16, 2014 thanks all. i understand that this leasing obviously circumvents to 50% DP, which will be useful to people who may not want to dump in a huge load of cash. that's why i just wanna find out if it would be worthwhile cost-wise during the leasing period, if this 7 year is a mandatory period, or there is an opportunity to opt out after a minimum period (e.g. when the COE stabilises at a lower rate during the next couple of years - contentious but it may just happen) to be able to change cars every few months isn't really important. i'll prob give PM a buzz to sort this out. thanks again. ↡ Advertisement
