Extend Your Razor's Life with a Pair of Jeans

If you use disposable razor blades, odds are they get dull more quickly than you'd like. Instructables points us to a video demonstration showing how to extend their utility with a pair of blue jeans.

The DIYer in the video says he's kept the same disposable razor sharp for six months. How? By taking a pair of jeans and running the razor up and down 10 to 20 times in one direction along the entire length of the jeans and then again in the opposite direction. Apparently "the threads of the jeans run in a diagonal so switching directions allows for [a] balanced approach to fine tuning the blade's edge."

Check out the above video to see the tip in action.

That's interesting.

I only shave my upper lip and my chin a little bit every day. I use for at least 3-4 mths. Sometimes even longer.

Just wash and dry them daily with toilet paper after use to prevent rust.

Great Tip. Will try.

Gillette Fusion cartridges are damn expensive, 1 cartridge can only last 1 week for me. I shave everyday.

look out for offer at JL, bought last week at 25%discount.

JL is John Little? The cheapest fusion cartridges that I have found is at a toiletries shop in Toa Payoh, $20 for 5+1.

Last time polis wear shorts time, barbers will use a strip of leather attached to the wall to sharpen their blades. But, now all use and throw due to HIV and hygiene reasons.

Nowadays also quite difficult to find a barber that will do shaving. I went to this barber before http://www.yelp.com.sg/biz/new-star-hair-dressing-saloon-singapore

$14 for haircut and shave. Not bad. Old school shaving.
