SMRT and NTUC Fairprice have named their joint venture mall at the Singapore Sports Hub Kallang Wave.

The 41,000sqm retail venue is targeted for a July opening although some outlets may start business from mid-June.

Anchor tenants include supermarket Fairprice, clothing store chain H&M and electronics chain Harvey Norman.

Rental of retail space has emerged as public transport operator SMRT's top income generator.

use taxpayers money to built....then privatise it......so in the end, taxpayers lose......

Haha.. since time immemorial, major parades like NDP, Youth Day etc was held at this Grand Old Dame for donkey years.. now got a spanking new stadium, cannot use.. damn ironic, esp since our NDP is synonymous with the National Stadium and Padang... what did we do to ourselves man.. haiz...

After the fiasco involvng the 'cao', must recoup the cost.

Even those sport event that used to be held at National Stadium (Atheletic, football) are finding it costly to hold the event there. If this carries on, this place will become a 大象.
