Reliability wise isnt it better to get a similar ride like Terios?

Not brand bashing. If i not salah, Diahatsu parts can also get at indon if you got the right links.

It's all about the pricing.. I don't wish to spend much..

I saw last weekend, black with yellow top.

I think the model is a3..

Don't know reliable or not..

hence if someone who own an A5, it would be beneficial

Personally, I've never driven one so I won't know much Abt reliability. But if a chery v5 can make it as a taxi, I don't see it as not reliable for heavy usage.. Parts wise, I've heard that the chery agent controls the spare parts market so I guess that's out the door.. Which is one of the reasons why I'm hesitant to get one for replacement.. But if you're a jb enthusiast, no prob for you.

Yeah, I frequent Jb. What do you know? Why No problem?

I know chery malaysia sell chery A5, They brand under a520..

but the problem is, I never see one..

And I did a check with my auto stockist, They don't carry any a520..

probably zero demand, as They label the Car at rm90k

I actually shortlisted chery a5 and v5 as replacement for my mz3.. So I went around my regular workshops asking their opinions.. They say its reliable but they concur that parts are hard to come by locally..

But v5 parts are slightly easier to get as across the border they have tons of parts. Probably because they're running on a mitsu engine. Except for the electronics though.. If I'm not wrong its called eastar down there.. For me, I decided to settle for a verna instead because I like to do up stuff locally.. Less hassles.. maybe you can check with bro mkman here.. If I'm not mistaken he's bringing in China car parts..

Or you can surf around in MY's chery forum to get more info..

V5 is more common in Malaysia. So far it is the only Chery I have seen in Msia

Mitsu engine? No wonder v5 aka eastar is so popular over there.

I called vertex the other day and enquire about a5. was Told that the engine and parts is the same as t11 aka tiaggo in my..

As you can see, I wasn't expecting too much from a mic ride. I just preparing for the worst scenario.

Mkman, interesting but I think he is for geely. I came to know him when he need help in his Accident repair.

Yeah, same here.

Yup they're using the old mitsu 2.4 from the older Mpv, the one which our spf had for a patrol car last time.

Its better to expect the worse as for a car its heng suay kinda thing. Nonetheless, with car prices heading north, its gonna be tough to get a replacement.. But bro, have a little hope, there's bound to be a diamond in the rough somewhere.. Might be mic or mik or mij.. Darn coe cars are very attractive too.. Apart from the potential ticker bomb for repairs of course..
