Hawker food i don't mind haha. but generally no.

I don't mind average service though.

As long as it's not downright rude.

was at a eatery on saturday afternoon ... shop was very big ... about 30 tables ... but only one customer when we reached there.

we just sat at the closest table near the door ... and it happened to be a joint table for eight but there were only 5 of us ... then a young guy came and told us to sit at a joint table meant for 5 instead.

after we ordered, my wife and my sis both pulled a chair from another table to put their bags on.

when the guy came with the food ... first sentence he uttered in mandarin was : "excuse me, if everyone is like you all, we dun have to do business anymore already." "i seated your group of 5 at a seating meant for five...so its meant for five only". if you start pulling chairs, then we will dun have to do business already.excuse me again again, but i am telling you now(nicely) because there is no crowd, but when its crowded I will not be so nice already". This part is in red because i did not hear him very clearly as he was mumbling away.

remember all this while there were only 1 customer and the 5 of us ... but shortly another group of 2 and group of 3 entered the eatery - that was until we left.

however things contrasted when the lady boss (i presume) came back into the shop when we were having our food. she walked past and saw our soup was almost done and asked us very courteously if we wanted to top up our soup base. She even asked my fahter a second time when she saw he was not looking well. But we declined as were were almost done. Then when we were about to pay, she happened to walk past again and told us to remain seated while she went to get the bill. and she promptly came back with the bill and we settled it and then left.

we just wanted to take my sickly father out for a meal at a eatery but ended up the planned location was closed down ... so we had to find another alternative asap so we just stuck to the shop where we had the encounter. Me and my sis both were in service line and we know if you have a "shop regulation" the customer should comply.

however, leave the additional comments out. its as if we were really causing his business enormous problems by pulling 2 chairs out of hundred over empty chairs. he could have just kept it short and simple :"excuse me, we have regulation here that customers are not allowed to pull chairs" and we would have returned them without any bad taste in our mouths.

I think he is always prepared to take things to the next level with all his customers seeing his behavior to my family.

even though the senior lady at the end was nice, the young chap proved to be a deterrent force to us to ever go back there again.

and the food was only average - to us.

You know all ur bad experience there is who's fault? Your presumed lady boss who hire sub-standard workers to provide crap service to you and me so she can make even more money.. While at it.. She complains to her MPs that's its difficult to hire cheap (crap nevermind)labour

Ultimately.. P8P is at fault for this... Hahahaha

Depends on how bad is the service.

If it's just impersonal, brusque and without a smile, which is in fact common in hawker stalls, I have no problems.

But if rude or sarcastic remarks which are uncalled for are made, I'll just walk away.

i am actually 90% sure that the young chap will take over the business one day ... meaning he not a worker.

others were in uniform ... except for this chap and the lady who came in later.
