  1. 1. At $218,888 (w/o COE), do you think the Porsche Macan 2.0 is a good buy?

Seen 1 yesterday night. It is very small for a porsche.

the 2L version should be very under power for its size. go for the V6 instead.

I don't think so. 237hp with 1.8 ton translate to 7.5kg/hp.

As comparison, Range Rover Evoque is 240hp with 1.7 ton translate to 7kg/hp.

ok. maybe the word "underpower" is subjective.

I find 240hp pulling a 1.3 ton is nothing impressive with today's product offering.

if 2.0L 237bhp/1.77 ton under power, then Lexus should close shop liao :D

RX270, 2.7L 187bhp/1.84 ton still quite comfortable,

To me, it is not subjective. If it beyond 10kg/hp, it is underpower.

What mass mkt SUV produce 240hp with 1.3 ton of weight?

I didn't mention 1.3 ton is a SUV.

to me, 240hp pulling a 1.3 ton car is so-so in today's product offering. nothing to shout about and I do respect your view that this 2L Porsche is not underpower. [:)]

I am curious to find out which car weight 1.3 ton pulling 240hp?

actually judge a SUV good or bad, should not focus on Engine bhp,

for a suv 1st should have excellent AWD system and drivetrain, combine with decent engine power,

nobody here comment Macan's AWD and drivetrain, all focus on underpower or not, topic stray

cos 90% of SUV owners will not do off roading.

I am not sure if the 2L version comes with AWD, but if it does, it will add more weight to the already heavy body.

so far, I only SUV I driven for long is the Airtek turbo which is only 1.6 ton and I find it already underpower.

but that's me. to each his own.

That's because nobody here drive like Chris Harris. In city road, it is very hard to fully utilise its AWD system except during downpour. To really test it in Sg, need to close off 99 bend.

Not necessary have to be off-roading. AWD helps during downpour or cup corner. Macan has AWD.

in SUV class, especially ADW type, not 1.3 ton,

so far the best power/weight ratio AWD SUV is Subaru Forester, 240bhp/1.63 ton

Hypersonic

Went to see it today. Other than the Turbo, the other 2 not worth considering. The base model is a joke for Porsche.
