Yup it's Hun-day.

It's pronounced that way by Lim Yun Suk - the long-time CNA Korean correspondent, onTV.

 

But ah, I recently spoke to 2 locals here.

Mentioned Hun-day ... twice, and they are like what?

What about ABALONE.....in OZ ...they call it " air ba lon ne""....i guess we call it air ba lon here...wrong?

My American colleagues say abalonee

My British colleagues call it aba - lone

 

So the Aussies say it the same way as the Yankees

this one I know, because I have a similar word on the engine of my bike, quattrovalvole

 

my wife thinks the model name Quattroporte very sexy and satki

 

after I told her the meaning, she sian-ed half

I think their version of the pronounciation is where the term "baloney" is derived from, but I could be wrong. Maybe even the other way around lol.

Like Holy Baloney to Holy Shit?
