Guys, my helper has problem washing the roof of my car (Estima) as she cannot reach it. I bought the anti-slip stool from IKEA (Those higher ones) but she wanted something higher.

Anyone has recommendations? It has to be anti-slip as I also do not want her to slip. Thks.

Get a mop for her to clean the roof. Those for cars are available in places like autobacs. Getting a stool...how much can she travel on a stool? Your car isn't exactly short. She will have to climb up and down to move thru the entire car length. Be a considerate employer. Get the proper washing equipment. Her arms are so short and your car so wide, how is she going to reach with just a stool?

If it is only the roof that is the problem and you live landed (ie. no need to go far to wash car), then to be absolutely safe, be in charge of the roof yourself.

LoL...get MOM approved safety harness and hard hat. If she fall and MOM question you you can say you provided her with the best safety equipment.

Thks for this. I gave her the options on whatever she needs I can buy but she insisted just stool as she finds the mop troublesome. Sigh..

u as the employer should just buy the mop and ask her to use..remember bro,if anything happens, she might twist her words and blame u instead. Shortcuts cuts short lives..

LoL...your maid is an overachiever. Tell her she dun have to please the boss to such extent.

Anyway she haven't use the mop how she know useful or not?

I think she wants to get to the roof of the car, get on her hands and knees and start scrubbing away. LoL...

domestic helper allowed to wash car?

i didn't know that. always thought cannot

That's my understanding also - doubly so if car is outside the compound.

We occasionally used to allow maid to wash - but she always got paid extra for washing car as we considered outside her duties

Metal folding step for high engine bay and roof service

Whoa so pro...LoL...She will tell her master no good to use too. LoL...

To a maid the most simple direct way is to get a ladder and get on top of the roof and do the washing. But she will be in for a big surprise...actually so will TS when she make a couple of dents on the roof. LoL...

This kinda thing if the employer dun bother to buy the right tools and show her how to use them of course she will say not useful and use her most layman way.

From my personal experience with mech , they will avoid at all cost to recommend their boss to purchase time saving / innovative tools because they fear that their boss will know their limitation in tool usages and fear that with higher productivity they will have to do more work in short no time to " eat snake" as they try to figure out how to do solve the problem. If they fail to solve the problem they can easily blame on lack of specialty tools.
