Malaysia boleh ............

My friend had ever warned me with regards to buying houses in MY, they could seize back anytime....

Yahoo news: Johor to seize Malay land from non-Malays

NUSAJAYA: The Johor government will seize Malay reserve land which had fallen into the hands of non-Malays.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin said several action plans would be enforced to seize land which rightfully belonged to Malays.

“This shows that we did not neglect our responsibility in defending or increasing the size of Malay reserve land,” he said to questions from Datuk Maulizan Bujang

(BN-Tiram), Ayub Jamil (BN-Rengit) and A. Aziz Ismail (BN-Senggarang) at the Johor state assembly sitting here yesterday.

However, he did not elaborate on what the action plans were nor the size of Malay reserve land which had changed hands.

Khaled said Johor had 432,157ha of Malay reserve land as of last September, compared with 87,536ha in 1957.

“In the Iskandar Malaysia economic region, the size of Malay reserve land is 23,517ha, compared to 1,921ha in 1957.

“These include land in Johor Baru and in Kulaijaya.

“This clearly shows that the acreage of Malay reserve land in the economic region has grown in size, and not the other way round.

“In fact, the size of Malay reserve land has grown by 12 times as compared to 1957,” he said.

So those who rush in to buy condos or bungalow will now [sweatdrop][sweatdrop] as the developer could build them on Malay land and will be seized back.... [bigcry]

How did they calculate the size of the Malay reserve land from time to time? From 1957 to 2014, there was an increase of so many acres ?? I only know land can increase due to reclaimation from sea...

http://www.sooperarticles.com/real-estate-articles/land-articles/malaysia-property-what-malay-reserve-land-785458.html

MRL-designated land can only be owned by Malays. Houses for sale that happen to be situated on MRL cannot be sold to non-Malays. Additionally, investment properties, be they residential or commercial property can only be acquired through a Malaysian company set up for the purpose but that company has to be 70 percent owned by Malaysian citizens, 30 percent of whom must be indigenous Malaysians. More recently, the government sought to energize the moribund real estate industry by relaxing some provisions of the Land Code. Under the amendment, foreigners are allowed to purchase property that is priced at least RM500,000 (about $159,000), without need for local equity partners. Even with these amendments, MRL land remains off-limits to non-Malays.

Their land owners change hands like changing underwear daily..... errrrr............ do they wear underwear .... hmmmmm.... ok change sarong daily...... [grin]

They moment there is a small profit, they will sell to another and after so many changing hands could landed with a non-malay who then build houses to sell to buyers.

The developer even if non-malay already make a huge profit from buyers and after years later, gov seize those houses back and sell to Malaysian.

The only suckers are the buyers ... [dizzy]

you don't check because its based on whatever they say..the best solution is not to buy/invest in Malaysia..until they changed to a non-Malay government..its not safe
