Singtel got this new 1GB for S$10 per month while roaming under Maxis network in Malaysia. Seems worth it, save the hassle of buying, comparing, activating, cutting, finding prepaid SIM card. .

Good for short holidays in Malaysia. Anyone tried before?

Good deal, I used to subscribe for 100mb for $5 per month.

Take note that minimum period is 3 months.

Really? I checked the FAQ, it says use 1 month after that can unsubscribe using the Singtel app. Good for my road trips into Malaysia. Just ensure to put manual select network to maxis.

aiyoh, last week I paid $15/day for the unlimited, [bounce1]

If you share the line with a few phone. I think is OK.

The phone that subscribe will be the wireless hotspots.

Zzzz. Why nothing for M1?

M1 service had been getting from good to bad, bad to worst....

I had fired them 2 years ago after staying with them for more than 10yrs.

They have upgraded to 200MB for $5/mth. Not sure where TS get the 1GB at $10/mth from?

I had always been doing that.

Singtel dataroam is unlimited.

Just return from Bali 2 weeks ago. I also do the same, 3 others family phone sharing the hotspots.

you guys know google map uses a lot of data, very expensive to use this apps in overseas.

2 days ago, I was in Macau and I subscribed the dataroam saver plan @$15/day.

I took a 5.30pm ferry from Macau to HK.

I thought since it is quite late, decided not to subscribe the dataroam plan in HK to save $15

my hotel is just a 10mins walk from HK ferry terminal,

too many pretty gals in HK, was busy admiring them and somehow lost my way.

decided to use google map to bring me to the hotel.

Google map uses GPS and I thought GPS is FREE. [bigcry]

when I reached the hotel, received a sms from Singtel informing me that I have hit $100 data roaming charges

and to prevent any bill shocks, the system auto-disable my dataroaming for the day

Good that Singtel provides a dataroam limit else I burn a hole in my pocket. [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

GPS is free. Loading the map is not free.

That's your own due diligence not done. Be more careful in future.

My phone's data roaming is always disabled.
