that is the problem with our society at large right now. self centred and never give a shit to others. was that a lady driver?

i mean ... why even bother looking for a u-turn or doing a 3 point turn when you can inconvenience everyone else? :D

i just returned from a 8-days drive holiday in Perth

i have the highest respect to drivers in Australia (i mean local, tourist may be kiasi)

highway 110 they stick with 110 ... no speeding ... could easily do 140 still consider slow in a super long stretch road

while passing town ... 60/80 they reduce to 60/80

when there is a slow vehicle in front ... they will only overtake at "overtaking lane" even it is 4-5km ahead ...

they will just slowdown and follow behind for 4-5km ... keeping a distance and no tailgating whatsoever

no horning ... no sudden cut in ... no SMLJ anyhoo u-turn

aus is a huge country ... while driving outskirt there is no police car at seen (likelihood to be catch is low?)

i would expect them drive like "ah beng" but none is seen ... [thumbsup]

i have the same experience while driving in NZ

what makes Aus and NZ drivers drive like angel huh? stiff penalty and camera?

aren't spore also have stiff penalty and camera?

in this particular instance ... i do not condemn AMDK ... lol !!!

Australian traffic enforcement is very strict. There is no such thing as 10% grace for the speed limit. Exceeding by mere 3km/h would attract a ticket.

My colleague drove a rental car there. He received a speeding summons after he returned to Singapore!

Even though I did not drive when I visited, I observed that my coach driver was very disciplined. He did not tailgate or speed. He was the driver cum tour guide, without an attendant. On highways, he kept the distance from the vehicle in front.

Nope. Older guy with his teenage son in the front. Setting the good example as always.

Simple....culture and education. The AMs are miles ahead in terms of traffic manners and driving behaviors.

I am sure some PRC tourist, upon returning to China will say the same thing about Singapore...that our toilets are clean with proper doors, our people don't poo on the streets and no matter how urgent one is, the people will surely go to the toilet. Why our people so angel huh?

Australia damn strict and have places for drivers to let their hair down.

Here, so many law, no enforcement, no where to let go, pressure cooking, everyone simply don't give a damn.

I've to admit, I done that a couple of times, but I do only when there isnt any cars around. This one quite epic, so many cars still can slowly do and wait for ppl to give way.

I wouldnt call it a habit, like I said, I've only done this twice, and once was in Brunei, I only do it when I really need to, we gotta be a more gracious and practice defensive driving more often, we cant expect everyone to follow to rules. Always give a benefit of doubt man, dont only give ambulance to the benefit of doubt.
