Hi everybody, I need some advise!

My car road Tax expires in 4th October 2015.

However I am currently my insurance expires in 18th Oct 2015, and my current NCD is 40%.

I was thinking of changing my car in October 2015.

Is there any possibility to be to get directly 50% NCD for my new car without renewing my old car road tax and insurance?

Or what is the best solution for this?

Cheers everybody, for the the advise once again!

It is at sole discretion on your current insurer whether they want to approve your additional 10% of the NCB.

My insurance expired on old car at 28dec.

DirectAsia approves my NCB on 4th Dec quotation.

Wow.. That's great.. But how did u go about it? Because directasia is just a online website.. How did u explain your situation and story to them for them to approve it?

How you know that is was successful?

Thanks bro!!

I call them quoting my existing policy number and RFQ for a new car.

Then they informed me that I can transfer 40% NCB to new car even before the "1 year policy".

Then I agree and suppose to transfer new car and scrap old car on 18dec.

But as I got a good price for my new car, I wanted to help the owner to transfer to my name ASAP so I got 2 cars now.

DA informed me that I can call in anytime to prorate.

Most insurers dictates 12 months will be the longest you can hold on to NCD after you stop owning a car. Exceptional few allows 24 months. U need to find out this info from your last insurer.
