Family appealing for information after man dies following suspected hit-and-run accident on BKE

A motorcyclist died in hospital after he fell victim to a suspected hit-and-run accident on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Jan 29.

According to Sin Chew Daily, the motorcyclist was on his way to work at around 5am when the accident took place.

The victim's clothes were tattered and torn when he was discovered on the expressway, leading family members to suspect that it was a case of hit-and-run rather than him falling off his motorcycle by himself.

The motorcyclist who has been working at Thomson Medical Centre as a chef leaves behind a 15-month-old daughter and a 33-year-old wife.

His family members are appealing for witnesses of the suspected hit-and-run accident to come forward to assist in investigations.

A netizen believed to be his cousin wrote on Facebook:

"Hi all,

"My cousin was involved in a hit-and-run accident this morning (29/1/16) at about 4-5am on the BKE towards the SLE and he was pronounced dead.

"If anyone happened to pass by or witness the accident, kindly contact us.

"My cousin has a baby girl who's 15 months old.

"Please help to spread the word and help seek justice for my cousin.

"Thanks in advance."

Dunno about that but in Sg it seems like if you keep denying it, and the victim cannot prove otherwise, the person will get off scott free.

My car was scratched with a sharp object when i parked at a carpark, reviewed my car cam and saw a guy walking towards my car with something like a screwdriver in his hands and when he walked past my car there was a scratching sound, but the police couldn't do anything to him because he kept denying that he scratched my car.

Y tat guy so idiot?  Insane!  Must be jealous of your car.

he victim's clothes were tattered and torn - meaning he has been dragged by the vehicle for a distance?

Poor thing.  RIP and hope the culprit be caught soon.

Maybe he is stunned that is why never say or do anything.

But it is very unwise to move the body.

Don't want to start a new thread for a case I witnessed this morning, so posting it here. BTW mod, can we have a consolidated thread for sharing Hit & Run cases?

Date: 29 April 2016

Time: 8:30am

Location: Along Boon Leat Terrace (outside Singapore Woodcraft Manufacturing Building)

Victim: White Nissan Latio, "SJV" plate

Culprit: Black Mazda 6 MPS, "SGS" plate

Brief description of incident

The Mazda is navigating out of a parking space at the said location, when it surge forward and hit the rear left side of that Latio. Obvious scratch marks noted on the front right bumper of the Mazda and that Latio. The Latio rear bumper also seems to have slight misalagnment (on the left side), after the impact.

The Mazda driver did not get off from his car after the incident, which was also witnessed by at least 3 - 4 passerby (walking / driving pass), but just drove off as if nothing has happened. I did not leave any note on the Latio as I have the feeling that it might be removed before the owner get to see it.

If you are that affected Latio owner, or if you know the owner, feel free to drop me a PM for further details. Drive safe everyone, don't inconvenience others and yourself. [:|]

At the first look, I thought the cam has auto censoring function, blurring the face features of the personnel involved. Then noted the thin heater strip running across the rear windscreen, so zhun. [laugh]

Btw, such knock should not have resulted in obvious dent marks, just live with it. Don't get your day spoiled by such people. There are many beautiful things for you to look out for. [;)]

Blame DSG fault.

omg, that was a hard hit. I was told car bumpers can take up to 5km/h impact without any damages. You shd hv included a pic of your bumper to show us the extend of damage, if any.

You hv a video footage and the culprit. Unless you wish to pursue with your lawyer, otherwise just live with it n move on.

btw, this forum is for hit n run appealing for witness. You do not need witness since the act was captured in video. Good quality, i must say

Not trying to sound racist, but I always encounter Indian drivers road hog on expressways all the time. Lane 1, lane 2, lane 3, you name it. And my wife almost got into an accident at our own car park 2 days ago, just because an Indian driver wanted to tau jiak and go against the direction and almost knock onto my wife's oncoming car. Still dare to act blur and said don't know cannot go that direction when confronted.
