Thankfully we have a sensible sultan as well as the crown prince across the causeway.

Convicted murderer can be described as a sensible man  [thumbsup]

That is old news liao. You do 1000 good but 1 bad. Ppl will still talk abt the 1 bad rather then 1000 good.

If convicted murderer cannot be describe as a sensible man. You think non convicted murderers can be more sensible than him?

Some time back he (Sultan) spoke out that Malay women shaking hands of opp sex is fine as its  " Malay culture "  and should be encouraged ... dont know how that comment went around and he said we should not follow those Arabic practices..... its this "Arabnisation" thats leading to all this mayhem nowadays.... just watch those P Ramlee black and white movies  and you will see how modern they were in the rocking 60's in the figure hugging kebayas (same like what our SQ girls wear)

you mean this?

In the 1980s, he was convicted of shooting dead a man in a nightclub during a feud, but was quickly pardoned.[41][42]

This Arabnisation process has started from the 1970's when oil prices quadrupled and Saudi started to fund the missionary movement generously across the world, pushing their strong influence on making Arabic standard the World standard. Of course, the Saudis are working for the U.S., and the latter has just allowed it to continue. Even Trump is not doing anything about the Saudis.

This is slightly OT.

Saudi is a Major player in the world. The kingdom does not tolerate political dissent and people gravitate towards the spiritual. Their funding of their religious movement gave them reach and it became one of the ways they play in this world; Russia don't want to talk on limiting their oil production, their missionaries flood that region and not long after that Chechnya conflict...

Saudi working for US? More like partners that need to be treated with respect.
