Just came back from Melaka.

 

Saw 1 black new Touran at Tuas checkpoint on Saturday morning. I think was black, sky was still not as bright.

 

Pumped full tank SPC95 before i set off. Travelled about 553km from SG to Melaka and back to SG. Morning jam at Tuas and JB checkpoints, start stop traffic and parts of NS highway when coming back SG, and little Jam at JB and Tuas checkpoints. Some city driving at Melaka. Fuel consumption could be better if driving at 110 or lesser. The drive was very stable at high speed but wind noise was quite audible around the window.

 

Pick up to overtake was quite good also, though I did not floor the accelerator. Cruise control was a heaven as I did not have it in my previous ride.

 

Love every bit of the ride up north. Comfortable for 6 adults and 1 two year old.

Hi all. Just joined this forum. I picked up my touran last month. Drive is good so far. Except that I have an issue. Every time at starting engine (about 80% of the time) and just driving off, I will hear a dull "clock clock" sound coming from the right front of the engine. It only comes at starting and will not appear for the rest of the drive. I was in VW for some touch up but the service people could not hear it at starting and so not resolved. Anyone have the same? Thanks

Hi all. I just found out what this sound is. It is the wiper moving. I realized now that sometimes at the end of the ride, when I press the button to shut down the engine, the left wiper will move a little higher (2 cm) from the resting position. When I next start the car and drive off, the wiper will move back to the resting position, making the sound. I think could be that the movement is bigger now which is how I saw the move. Any views on this? Thanks!

Thanks yokechye. My sales guy told me it is normal for wiper to move. This is to prevent the wiper from being stuck to the windscreen. But this movement is too huge for me.

the wiper will adjust its resting position every few "parking" either up or down from the control line, to maintain the shape/edge of the blade

 

its very good design, wiper last damn long and not out of shape blade

I think it does not move all the time. Maybe yours do move but not as much. I definitely think mine is too big a move which is why I can see and hear.
