Sudden death due to cardiac arrest

can try 拉筋。

Weekend warrior....plenty I think. Even if it is 15 min, just find something. Short run, some stretching every day. That might be better than doing anything drastic over 1 hour in the weekend. As we age, body and muscles get stiffer. Stretching helps a lot. Of course there is cardio. Walk more. It helps. Squats etc to train the muscles.... A lot of people in 50s cannot even squat.

Sleep and rest very important. Don't try to be a hero watch movies and tweet on smartphones until late late, then start trying to "repent" in the day time by exercising hard.

Farmers worked very hard one, but you never see one collapsing out of a sudden right? 'cos they wake up early and go bed early.

Yah...............I agree.....................sleep is very very important.............. [thumbsup][thumbsup][laugh][laugh]

Burn fats..... Think the starting point should be intake of food. It is a lot more harder to burn off fats. How many times did we over eat? Just have enough not to be hungry and eat smaller portion. That works better. Easy to say but difficult to master cos we are bought up with the teaching that we must 吃得饱

Simply put ... the body first source of burning (fuel) is your carbs, then followed by fats and finally muscles and beyond that you damage your organs .... now to reach the fat source is kind of a long process and to reach that level is really not easy (comes in maybe after an hour of running or workouts.. agak agak) but by then you would want some 100plus/Gatorade (or any other electrolyte drink) or something sugary or an energy bar for sure and again your carbs/sugar will take over again as they are easily absorbed again as fresh fuel

That's the problem in Singapore.

It's been a habit since young that I eat 4 to 5 meals a day but in smaller portions each time. Somehow, in my entire working life, there are people around me that says nasty remarks about my habit.

What they don't understand is I actually do eat the same calorie intake as them but spread over time as my body really can't take single shot heavy meals (I need to hit the toilet if I do). Nowadays I am so tired of explaining to people that I just go lunch by myself.

Warren Buffett drinks 5 cans of Coke every day

Many nutritionists argue that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that a power breakfast is the secret to keeping one fully charged throughout the day.
For the world's most successful investor however, a power breakfast does not consist of any eggs and granola. Instead, Warren Buffett, 84, downs an entire can of Coca-Cola every single morning.
In a recent interview with Fortune, the third richest man in the world added that he would sometimes have Coca-Cola with potato sticks or ice-cream for breakfast.
"I'm one quarter Coca-Cola," Warren Buffett said to Fortune when a reporter asked about his comments regarding the death of Coca-Cola president Don Keough.
The billionaire, whose company owns 9.2 per cent of Coca-Cola, said that he has at least five cans of the soft drink every day - three in the day and two at night.
Fortune quoted Buffett as saying: "If I eat 2700 calories a day, a quarter of that is Coca-Cola. I drink at least five 12-ounce servings. I do it everyday."
There is about 35 grammes of sugar in each can of Coca-Cola, which is 10 grammes above the World Health Organisation's recommended daily intake. Doctors and nutritionists have longed warned that too much soda could lead to obesity and other health problems, but this does not seem to faze the investor.
When asked why he chooses such an unhealthy diet, Buffett said that he decided to eat like a six-year-old after finding out that the lowest death rate is among six-year-old children.

Wow... My kid would love to do that. 6 cokes a day! A very american thing. Easily in meetings, americans can finish 2 cans of cokes and still not enough. Its their staple fluid supply.

Another thing I do is having random fruity days when I eat nothing but fruits for the entire day. I do that when I start to feel lethargic or just lack of energy.

As usual, the nasty comments from co-workers will erupt when I do that. Frankly, having fruity days really help me to rejuvenate myself so that I can concentrate better on the tasks on hand.

Guess I work with a bunch of people that are mainly complaining and not willing to improve their lives; ironic isn't it?

freedom of choice. I hate it when doctors give un-informed advice and say "you die your problem"

seems like they want to peddle their drugs to make more money.

I say eat what you want. just be informed about your own choices and your own body.

take charge and responsibility for one's own decisions. do not be un-informed and let doctors decide, or to play with our lives.

do I care that WB drinks 5 cans of coke a day? No

do I want to do that? No

Is it my place to give my opinion to WB? No

that is all.

I had seen a specialist in TTSH for very high cholesterol.

As part of his checks, I did a CT scan on my heart.

Everything was good and clear.

So do you know how often I should repeat the CT scan?

I know the exposure to radiation is very high
