Yes postcode easy n fast. Need to learn how to do it on the altis gps...

I recall doing a comparison, Google Map vs Altis GPS.

Altis GPS pro(s)

- lock to satellite quicker

- give navigation instructions earlier

- give visual and voice lane instructions

The biggest con is the map gets outdated and the update is costly at about $150.

I started with esso95 n shuddering was strong. Idling was around 0.7 to 0.9 k rpm. Then i switched to spc95 shuddering and the strong acceleration from stand still. It seems the fc is not as good ( per trip was like 16km/l before i do merry go round in mcsp)

After a few tanks then in Jan17 i started with caltex95. I cant be sure if acceleration is strong as esso95 but i know the shuddering is still low. Per trip fc can be as high as over 20km/l before entering mcsp.

Since my idling is in the same range as yours, n i still sense shuddering, i suppose the cause of mine is different to your case. Will arrange service at LK next and ask them to check.

Btw there is a strange pull n release feel while at about 60km/hr. At higher speed the drive is very smooth. So i always wonder if it has something to do with how the vvti works ( i imagine is it like switching between two n four cylinders ð ) n the switch is not done well.

Now the shudder is getting less although can still be felt time to time.

The pull n release point shift from 60km/l to 70km/l. Could be due to the car now has done another few 1000km n things have loosen up a bit.

Info sharing on auto lock doors for Toyota cars.. I tried and it works ..

Step #1

Close all the doors.

Make sure your parking brake is on.

Don't do this on an incline especially if your choice requires the car to be shifted into Neutral.

This depends on your key type:

Normal key: Switch ignition to the ON position (2nd position).

Smart key: Turn ignition to the IGNITION ON mode (2nd press of the start button). Do not step on the brakes or your car will start!

REMINDER! Step #2 has to be done within 10 seconds of doing step #1!

Step #Option==============================Shift to=====Door lock switch to

1 Lock immediately when shifting out of Park=======P=============Lock======

2 Unlock immediately when shifting into Park=======P============Unlock=====

3 Lock when vehicle speed is about 20kpn=========N=============Lock=====

4 Unlock based on driver side door===============N============Unlock====

Shift the gear lever to either P or N.

If you're already in the correct shift option, you don't need to change it. So if it says above you need to shift to P, and you're already in P, leave it. Same for N. Of course, if you're in P and need to shift to N, do it (step on the brakes to shift!).

Press the driver side door lock switch to your choice for 5 seconds.

Release after 5 seconds.

If You're Successful

If you're successful, all doors will lock then unlock. This is the signal that the setting has been turned on OR off. Yes this is horrible. The only way to know if the setting is correctly set is to try it out. This is a problem for Option #3 as it means you have to actually drive.

Sorry to dig this old post.

Was trying this for the auto-unlock.

Doesn't work for me leh.

My Altis past 1000km recently and went to Borneo Motors @ Leng Kee for the first servicing.  That place is rather crowded.  I brought in the car very early (around 0740) and I was the second customer to be served.  I only got my car close to 10am.  I opted to wait around there and I found my way to Brickworks ABC food center, walking up this Rumah Tinggi Eco-park, whose entrance is just behind the Borneo Leng Kee place.  At least I got a good morning walk, but I ended up putting back all the calories because I had extra coffee break at ABC and got some You Tiao.  The 2 videos for reference.

Rumah Tinggi Eco-Park.

Brickworks Food Centre, having You Tiao.

Hi all, new Altis driver here. Does anyone know how to:

1. Disable the console lock when vehicle is moving

2. Install keyless entry for passenger side door?

Cheers everyone!

Keep having to fumble on the side mirror button and unlock button in the dark.

I am tempted to stick a luminous sticker on them.

Anyone? Lol

Already done that using Daiso glow in the dark stickers.

If anyone have better solution like replacing the entire button with lighted buttons let me know

Today, I think I encounter the pull & release at around 60km/h -  I think the RPM is too low at 1k.

Wonderful :)

Not too sure whether you guys notice or is it mine...

As my lights are in auto mode, whenever passing under some darker areas, the lights on the LCD screen and odometer will suddenly become darker / brighter ... and can just hear some faint sound on this "turn on / off" sound ...

Is it normal?

Is it that they transferred the power to the headlights and then dim the lights on the LCD screen and odometer?

Just wondering?

That is normal :-)

Hello Guys,

May I know what is the current offer quoted by your SE for Altis? Am actually looking to purchase as this is one of my shortlisted car.

MY SE says $104,988 now.

Less $2K for trade-in (Toyota brand only)

Colours: Only brown, black, red left.

Let me know if you want my SE's contact.

She's quite pro. Hassle-free dealing with her to switch to my 1st Toyota.

*Disclaimer: I don't get commission :)
