Watwheels Supersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 I read some of the comments online .. some people suggested naming COE, ERP after LKY. LoL...So that they could curse him almost everyday is it? Anyway as usual he foresee all these commemoration thing coming while he was still around. He specifically asked not to put his face on money, no statue or whatever. IMO I also find it no point coz when you or any other person look at Singapore that is his legacy...bigger dan anything printed on coins or dollar notes, bigger dan Changi airport, bigger dan any statue in Singapore.

Throttle2 Supersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 Over the years, i have attempted to buy two properties in the vicinity. Not becos they are near the late Mr LKY but becos the area is old yet new, modern yet old school. In 2010, i finally did, although this one slightly further but still within walking distance. So about every other week, i would pass by his house. Whenever driving pass, the gurkhas would look at us closely. From the outside, it looks well maintained with a lot of greenery. Would be sad to see it replaced by some modern high rise. Hai......

13177 Supersonic April 12, 2015 Share April 12, 2015 (edited) No matter for what reason, i still find it is quite pity to demolish such a historical house. Yesterday i just passed by that area, didn't walk past to take a look. Now i guess the place should be crowded with people liao! The rest beside may sell and as a big plot of land it would be very possible.

Jman888 Moderator April 13, 2015 Share April 13, 2015 Wow. That front gate! If i don't know who is staying inside, I would think its 2nd changi hotel! a few ministers or rich people front gate also have such guard house i used to walk pass 38 Oxley quite often in in the late 70s when i was in primary school, we used to walk from school to Plaza Singapore (Yaohan) and cut through this road cos it was the only short cut i remember the opposite side of the road was empty with trees like 'forest' and there were two gantry at the two end of the road which only residents with pass (his neighbour) can cut through at certain time. Walking pass the house will some time see few white Volvo SUV by the side and the body guard hanging around outside the house. There used to be two guard house if i remember correctly and the space is bloody small that fit only one person.

Thaiyotakamli Supersonic April 13, 2015 Share April 13, 2015 3rd casino ... Lol i think its a good choice to demolish the house as past years the area there not allowed to build highrises. Now with demolition, Oxley road area can develop more and build more condos instead of bungalows ↡ Advertisement
