I got this phone few weeks back. 64gb, gold color. no edge for me. too gimmicky.

 

Have to say that this phone is really good.

Touchwiz has been minimised (not completely) but good enough so that there's less lag.

 

This camera is really good. And I'm comparing with my wife's Iphone 6. Same and maybe even better.

Supported by DXOmark review of the S6 Edge (exact same phone except for the edge thingy)

I really like this camera, darn it's good. Way way better than my old Z. And in auto mode, definitely better than the Z3 by a lot. [thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

 

Battery life is decent. No longer have removable battery/SD cards.

Upside is that the phone is very nice to hold compared to comparable Z3 (which i originally wanted to get).

Good thread. I am thinking of ditching my ip6 for the s6, but lazy of doing so. troublesome. I think it is a good phone. the 3 colours all nice and like what la said the phone is nice to hold in hand. also, I find it light, which is something I like. and also the camera is as good or better than ip6 finally. this phone is truly Samsung's new jewel in the crown. well done Samsung.


I am concern if my contacts will be transferred to the new phone if I change phone. although I know it should but there is this worry.

i bot d note4 over d s6 coz of the unreplacable battery n no SD card slot. Plus d big screen is so much better for my eyes. previously had s4 :D

 

also it charges full within half or so... superfast...

This phone has wireless charging also. I find the gold colour to be reflective, which is nice in a special way, and the gold is not too yellowish, nice. Did you get the wireless charging pad , mate ? maybe can get from gmarket cheaper.


The z3 has waterproofing and longest battery life, these are its strength over others.

I'm usually at work so i have access to wall outlet all the time. So i just use normal charging.

 

I actually didn't even unpack their fast charger out of the box hahaha [lipsrsealed] But i heard from my friend who has the edge that it charges very fast.

Maybe bring it on holiday only.

I own the 1st sony xperia z.

I can say that waterproofing is nice. but the rubber seals will spoil one.

My BIL's S5 (which is waterproof as well) lasted 6mths, mine lasted about just about 1 year.

 

Maybe a portable camera where u don't open the charging port cover often would retain it's waterproofing for a longer time.

Yes, camera is a important function to me and many users also, because special moments are priceless. I saw a wireless charging car phone holder in online, fyi.

It's still dependent on how much mAmp the USB port is able to dish out. Unless the wireless one connects to the 12V connector.

 

My car got USB. but i think it's sibei slow. Maybe 0.5amp only. Not even 1amp. I actually just keep a xiaomi powerbank in the car as a standby...

Oh yeah for those using dropbox and wanted to continue on with dropbox for their 50gb storage. Please note that now samsung's tie up is with Onedrive instead. 100gb storage.

 

I'm too used to using Dbox, so i didn't actually switch though it comes with the phone.

I had the Xperia z also. But the blocky design made it not nice to hold.

 

I didn't bother me when the phone was smaller, but now with the increase in size, really like holding a brick lol.

once you had tested big with note4 or iphone6+ ... there is no turning back ... lol

 

my fingers are shorter than usual for a man, so i prefer around the 5" size screen hehe.

You are not alone , my fingers are short also , that's why I prefer phones that are nice to hold. I think the s6 is nice to hold as it is thin and the metal at the side.

About $20 if u choose normal mail.

Screen protector don't buy from this shop. Got others that are cheaper, $6 only. But do take note that the Edge ones there's no curved glass screen protector.

Reasonable, doesnt add to much bulk to the phone and good quality. Bumper lid is very important to me. Cracked my S3 screen due to those front opening cases.
