littlecar 1st Gear January 15, 2017 Share January 15, 2017 Tough to get discount and got a 1k cut only from the 126999 motor show list price or maybe i didnt push hard enuff. $126,000 for kosong car 3000 audit credit (standard) 5 years unlimited mileage warranty Free front and rear camera The show is having a promotion interest rate for loan at 1.99%... i recall last week when i was at the PA showroom it is quoting 2.68%. Does that mean servicing will be paid through the Audi credit? As opposed to being given three years' free servicing. ↡ Advertisement

There were a lot of buyers so doubt Premium would have been prepared to give a bigger discount. Anyway, why didn't you take the outright discount? Then you would have paid $123k and less on the interest. You would have had to pay for servicing in the future, but that's only about $1,200 for three servicings, and it's more economical to incur that cost in the future. I think the best price for the facelifted A3 since launch in December 2016 is about $121,999 (before negotiation). While your $123k is slightly more than that, the five-year warranty to me makes up for it. I don't think the initial buyers in December were offered the five-year warranty. Yea didn't think about that as well but good point made about using it for out right discount.. but not too sure whether I can sign up with the 3 years free serving later on. Probably good for other bros to consider here.

Dualspec Neutral Newbie January 15, 2017 Share January 15, 2017 Was driving my 1.0t up this mscp steep slope at 132 jurong gateway. Seems that car couldnt move up until a hard deep pedal depression.was in comfort mode. However, do not have this issue if in dynamic. Any bro facing the same? Will it put any stress on the car if i set to dynamic mode for my daily drive? Can feel the turbo lag in comfort mode.

Or you can try put dynamic mode which auto set gearbox to "S" mode. Pull the shift to put it back to "D". This way throttle response is better without putting gear shift at higher rpm. thedryvr 2nd Gear January 15, 2017 Share January 15, 2017 @Dualspec surprising to hear that... Anyways putting to dynamic shouldn't have any stress to the car as it is still well within what the car is engineered for. You probably just burn some more fuel and a bit more noise from the higher revs.

You probably just burn some more fuel and a bit more noise from the higher revs. Can feel comfort mode, the pedal not so sensitive and soft. When go up ramp, need to depress quite abit. Its 1 to 2 sec of the car keeping still before moving up. You can try at any ramp but your car must be at a in stationaty position first, not in moving position. Any bro feels the same for the 1.0? Arch1984 4th Gear January 15, 2017 Share January 15, 2017 1 to 2 sec is quite long for hill hold. Probably trying to make sure it has enough power before releasing the hill hold.

thedryvr 2nd Gear January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 Unfortunately, the test drive routes are usually flat normal roads, not very representative and one can hardly test such scenarios (steep climb, bumps, poor road surface, etc)

But if encounter those very steep ramp from ground floor straight to 3rd level will be a problem. Especially if rpm is below 2000 and the turbo has not kick in yet in a slow moving situation. Will try again moving up those steep ramp like takashimaya if same situation occurs. I think dynamic mode can solve this but worried it stresses the engine and gearbox too much. Arch1984 4th Gear January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 Keeping it at first gear sld be strong enough. In comfort mode, they may switch to second gear too soon and be on half clutch. Will spoil thr clutch.

Arch1984 4th Gear January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 I dont drive one but i read that a3 tends to half clutch in comfort mode. U see if u are using gear 2 when moving up ramp. ↡ Advertisement
