For a moment, I thought it's another 17 year old who is doing an Amos. Got to change the title.

Well, good for this 17 year old girl.

Good for her! Shows that not all strawberry gen only thinks for themselves...

Then again, I am a cynical person, especially when I view such video online. I wonder why some take the video and post it online, especially when there could be earning from ads (like on youtube), or wonder what's their ulterior motive. Though I do admit it does raise awareness of some situations too.

I have the same thoughts about documenting the deed.

It was mentioned inside her post. Yes she is trying to gain attention through the video, but she is hoping to get the attention on the homeless. :)

Maybe she didn't have a prom date, rather than go to the prom alone, she did something meaningful.

Give her due credits :)

Hopefully, her kind deeds can influence more of her peers to do likewise... and we will be one step nearer to a better world :)

a few things observed:

1. Asian. maybe not so popular in school. less pressure to join popularity contest

2. Stereotype Asian+studious, again prom is not the highlight of one's high school. more like which Ivy League they are going too..LOL

3. Conservative family - Tiger mom's not in the picture. I don't know. but her forgoing prom for better use of the money is not the first to be done.

Not wanting to stereotype or point out the peculiar culture or race or values.

I wonder why high schools have this prom thing anyway.

It's their school culture which also marks the beginning of their adulthood. At 18 they can more or less make decisions lor. LoL...
