Scooting around the world on a Vespa

http://www.todayonline.com/lifestyle/travel/scooting-around-world-vespa

Juvena Huang is much like your regular Singapore girl the colleague you go to yoga lessons with, or your best friends earnest kid sister with a love for bikes. But unlike most, the 27-year-old is also embarking on a trip around the world today. On her Vespa scooter. Alone.

This journey started because a good friend passed away in 2009, revealed Huang. He was a motorbike rider who was always taking long distance rides to countries around the region and spoke of riding around the world. Nothing happened to him until the rare occasion he decided to drive. He ended up in a car accident which took his life. The uncertainty and brevity of life struck me hard. I wanted to do something crazy for once.

Think she needs a wrist brace support.. a vespa doesn't seems like a good choice at all.. constant vibration at handle bar, small tyres make traction bad. Good luck for her but I think it's really not a good bike choice. Think she will give up after reaching Bangkok at best

agree on the vibration and choice of bike...

however, she has done a SIN - Koh Samui - Phuket - Krabi - SIN in 2013..... think she can reach Myanmar easily....

She has also pointed out that she cant go very fast but that is a blessing as she gets to see more...

btw there's one guy who has travelled from Italy to Singapore in a Vespa

Anyway, a Singaporean couple has made it round the world:

I am timid, I won't entertain the thought if I have to drive to Malaysia alone coz of the perceived danger

Riding alone is beyond my nerves ....

So this young girl is very brave!

In group, I think it's worth to try for sure!

I drove to Penang alone once, overnight in about 7 hours. Pedal to the floor except for fuel stops.

Penang still ok la..

My usual routine is to take one break at Ayer Keroh, then another break at Sungai Buloh. After that the hilly roads will keep your adrenalin up until you need to pee or smoke.
