I like the new tucson.. looks very muscular!

Is the vehicle available for test drive yet?

I believe should be. I dropped by the showroom last weekend and the new one was sitting on the driveway.

New Hyundai Tucson 2.0l Pre Launch Price is S$131,999. COE Rebate S$59,000. COE bidding only when car arrives in Singapore. Komoco said price will be adjusted based on the COE value.

Long ago, have been said, Komoco will not bring in turbo for this generation of Tucson. At least for the immediate future.

don't understand why local Korean ADs don't want import TC models, actually Tucson, Santa Fe, Sorento all have TC model in China and U.S, is it hot weather reason, or fuel grade reason?

Most suspect Komoco want to target minimum OMV for models such as Elantra or Tucson, as the turbocharged models are usually more expensive. Furthermore they can probably re-use existing spare part stock on this 1.6 engine...

Checked out n test driven new Tucson today.

Exterior very handsome n appeared less bulky than Santa Fe. 18" alloys. If just based on looks, will get this suv.

Interior very spacious w 3 fist spacing from knee after adjusted front passenger seat also with knee away from opened glove box edge. Shoulder n head room very adequate as well. More spacious than previous versions. Lumbar adjustment for driver. Deep boot as usual but w power tailgate. Decent sound system, speakers can b bassy if needed, mids r adjustable. Doors definitely felt heavy. Pano roof.

Pulling power not as urgent as previous version, maybe the weight? Above 3500rpm have engine drone. Didn't feel as planted as should b during corners.

Pricing not attractive because of no factory fitted leather upholstery, no large touchscreen w satnav, no leather wrapped steering wheel , no shark fin ant.

The koup 1.6 tc is 6at? Unsure if its becoz hyun/kia does not have a wet dct yet.

Yep, if I recall correctly the Koup 1.6 turbo is a six speed automatic.

However the new gen cars like Tucson and Sonata VIII come with Hyundai's own designed 7-speed dual-clutch transmission when equipped with their 2.0L turbo. Unfortunately we don't get any Korean turbos besides Veloster, so we only end up with their A6MF2.
