Sharing view of a Pool fan on BR's situation, make a lot of sense.

Can't work out what's going on at the club just now. One minute he's safe and now it hinges on assurances. What is clear though, is that the club hierarchy believe one thing, and are as much in the dark as the rest of us. FSG holding cards close.

The club seems to run day to day by itself with oversight from the owners. Much like a corporate model, owners only step in at these moments. I've seen many examples when the head of a company knows sod all about ownership plans. It's very private equity like.

Sounds to me as if that's what we're seeing at the moment. Doesn't mean Rodgers goes, but if he did, it's unlikely that the club would have too much prior knowledge.

There's lots of good guys on here adamant he's safe, but at the same time if the clubs telling them this then you can't hold it against them and it may well be true. But you need to understand that even the top CEO's are rarely in the loop. This decision is bigger than leaking a transfer target or a bit of gossip from inside the training ground.

And to be fair, that's probably why FSG aren't briefing the club. They probably understand the mad leaky bucket which is LFC. Likewise, they'll be very frustrated by the fact it goes on at all.

Looks like Rafa to RM is all but done.

'Ancelotti is an absolute phenomenon and we give him all out appreciation,' Fernandez de Blas told the Madrid members group.

'Until three days ago he was the best trainer in the world as two years ago it was Jose Mourinho and from this week onwards it will be Rafa Benitez.'

Leicester City investigate players over racist claims

Leicester City Football Club have told Newsbeat they are launching an investigation after a video which appears to show some of its players racially abusing a woman in Thailand emerged.

It's claimed the film, obtained by the Sunday Mirror, shows three academy players naked in a hotel room.

Perez is an idiot.

Don't understand what RM is thinking. Sacking one of the best coaches who managed to unite all those personalities in the squad and get them to deliver on the pitch is just wtf. Trophyless but the results were still quite decent anyway.

That's why Perez is an idiot. No disrespect to Benitez but his credentials and experience do not even come close to Ancelotti.

Maybe Perez wants a player for next season but Ancelotti said no? Credential wise, Ancelotti certainly is way up there.

Or maybe Perez is just helping Rafa to fulfil his lifelong dream :D

Arsenal Wenger confirming he would not spend astronomical sums on new players.

Got to admire this guy's unshakeable belief in getting value for money signings. IMO, this is different from owners who tighten the purse strings for bottom line reasons cos in that case they are not backing their Manager up esp if the Manager concerned asked for a particular player n was turned down for costs reasons. In AW's case, he genuinely believes in this. That's why Gunners owners love him so much n guess FSG would go to the ends of the world to get a Manager like him.

Having said that, I don't quite understand why he wants to go public on this. Maybe he wants to give a subtle warning to selling clubs that he won't be taken for a ride but it could inversely be the stick that the supporters use to beat him should he miss out on targets n if Arsenal's from turn bad next season. We shall see how this pans out.......

For a Manager like Wenger who had the capability to develop players, he don't need to spend huge amount on developed players. He needs young players who can be trained to play his kind of football. He sticks to that style since day 1.

On the contrary, look at how BR had flip flop with his team. 3 seasons on, still trying to figure out how he wants to play. The philosophy all out of the window.

FSG need not look far and wide. One coach who has proven to develop players and make them into stars is currently available.

Perez is an idiot.

I agree that Perez is an idiot but then so is Roman Abramovich cos he sacked CA under the same circumstances in 2011. Finishing 2nd in his second season after being Champs (he won the Double) in his inaugural year in the EPL was not good enough for the Russian! CA won the La Decima (10th UCL) last season when quite a few Mgrs before him couldn't deliver. Birds (owners) of a feather flock together😜
