what i canot accept is telco company changing the rules for their existing plans. when they want you, they entice you. now they dump you and ask you to upgrade your plan.

IMHO, the result of subscribers wanting competition and value for money.

Don't know whether if it is true, is M1 giving free 3G upgrade to 4G ? :wut:

I recall reading somewhere M1 giving 12GB 3G Plan free upgrade to 4G.

Maybe want them to use up the 12GB faster so  can charge more.  [laugh]

Those with installed hidden 2G GPS car tracker will not work as well.

Do not buy it online since it useless.

Do note only 3G and above device will work. [laugh]

The closing of 2G network is for telco companies to make more money lo. Cause 2G subscriber would need to pay money to change to a 3G SIM card, plus pay much higher handphone plan and also a 3G phone.  [shakehead]

I think news reported that there are still tons of 2G users as of 1 Apr 17 lo, and maybe majority of them are foreigners and elderly, so dont think they can easily closed down the entire network just like that lo.

Yes, it'll not be such hard shutdown on 1 Apr 17... but the day will eventually come.. could be days or weeks but being a much more efficient nation than our bolehland neighbor (no offence [laugh] ), doubt they would let this drag on for too long. So those who know any of your elderly parents or relatives still on 2G, better advice them to change.

Up next will be the analog tv broadcast.. i think should by end of the year will be replaced by digital broadcast. Those with set-top boxes from starhub or singtel no impact... otherwise need to buy special antenna or change to digital tv.
