Look for his interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1988. He talked about the same things he does today. And he gave the only reason why he would run for President. “If I ever saw it get so bad, I would never want to rule it out totally.”

Also not forgetting the fact Trump do not have to do this. He could retire into the background and live a (very very) comfortable life. But by running for President, he's putting his life in danger, his history being dug up and scrutinised line-by-line, the safety of his family, and many others. 

 

Clinton on the other hand, has no choice but to run.

Trump has all the media against him, the establishment against him, the big businesses against him (can't bribe their way in anymore), his own party against him (same thing, can't bribe their way through any more), the whole dam election RIGGED against him. Lol really no worries. I've been reading bad stories about Trump since the 90s. 

At best Trump is a ruthless seriously egoistic businessman who is 100% not self made.

 

He does have the wide support of a group of Republican supporters. Undeniable. That is why the Republicans backed him cos they thought he can win.
