Hi

So basically i need to get a cabin size luggage

Considering between american tourister and samsonite.. At the moment the samsonite is on sale price and its $100 more expensive than the AT. The Samsonite luggage offers 10 years limited warranty, American Tourister 3 years warranty. Since it's a limited warranty whereby wear and tear isnt covered..

Is it worth to pay another $100 for the Samsonite? Anyone has experience with the warranty?

Both are under the same company. Only branding issue. I am using AT hardcase which is made in India as I travel over there for work. Dirt cheap in India. What 10 years Samsonite warranty? You think the same model will still be around that long for the spares alone?

Samsonite is the higher end of the two

Depends on the material you wanna get

If you want to get hardshell, Samsonite has better material and can last a long time, i have them in different sizes and they are really good.

If you are looking at fabric, just get AT, the material is tough too.

Between hardshell n fabric, i will go for samsonite hardshell for the light weight (can carry more stuff)

My cousin also shared with me 2 of his AT bag handles broke after a few trips. Seems like a common problem for AT?

Hmm that could be one problem.. actually asked the sales person, he that says that though that they come from the same company the material they use to produce the luggage is actually diffirent.. AT use pvc.. Whereby samsonite use "something that i cant remmber"

I had both. The american tourister hardcase was solidly built and lasted over 10 years. In fact, it was pretty much still intact when I discarded it last year, except for its retractable handle. It broke twice in its life span. Got it repaired for free the 1st time by the airline company. The 2nd time it broke, it was loaned to my niece. So I didn't bother to get it repaired again.

My Samsonite is still good. Bought it in the US.

Try amazon. For Samsonite, I found that some models are still much cheaper even after paying shipping costs.
