Rising resale value of Kia

perhaps 5-10 years ago, kia resale value is probably tagged to near hyundai, whereby people stay away from them due to the low resale value after few years. Compared to toyota and honda whose resale value sustains.

However, when getting my new ride k3 from kia comparing to the new altis, I was surprised by the outstanding functions that the car offers compared to altis.

Cruise control, paddle shift, rear aircon vent , sunroof, 17inch wheels where altis has none of them.

And definitely i would say kia has improved tremendously over the years and i believe that its resale value will catch up to the japan brands in few years time.

What do you guys say?

my resale Forte was good too.

old folks are always saying kia no good hyundai no good ( though hyundai now still really no good) ...

I am positive that in terms of black and white , written down functions, easily win other cars.

Perhaps time will tell the change?

i am on my second KIA and unfortunately, it has some niggly electronic problem (proximity sensor and seat a/c).

The car is otherwise ok, after 6 months.

Perception will take time to change. You are right to say that time will tell. A particular European car is having perception problems due to one of their gearboxes. This too will take time to change people's perception.

Kia, Hyundai, what's the diff? Same same but different.

Shared engineering, shared factories, all under Hyundai Group.

Korean cars has caught up with Jap cars.

That is an undeniable fact.

Probably the price has caught up too.

Yep. Their FC is not as good but then not much worse to make me feel that its worth it to get a jap car. Jap car has no other benefits over Korean cars now other than their marginally better FC.

erm...K3 FC is about 11km/l?

vezel is 17km/l..

it's not marginal to me :)

anyway K3 is about the same price as vezel, then its vezel anytime...

anyway that's my personal perception...

can argue till the cows come home..and i reckon u bought a korean car yeah?

enjoy your ride~

Vezel is a nice car. Good fuel consumption.

Good price too.

I would consider the Vezel if KAH distributes the car as I am not ready to accept PI cars yet.

Buying PI cars are as good as saying bye bye to warranty, if there is one to begin with.

Bros ... I used to be the same. I used to scoff at the idea of buying a KIA. However, 5 years ago, it was all I could afford! I had no choice but was comforted that it came with a 5 year warranty.

I took the plunge with a Kia Cerato Forte. There were a lot of features ...

Currently, I am looking for another ride (itchy backside!) and went down to have a look at the new Camry. I was sort of disappointed with the features provided considering that it is a considered one of the more premier mid range sedans ... the features paled in comparison with my current Kia (5 year old technology)!

So nowadays ... I am looking at the Sorento or Carens (too small) without much bias.
