W169 A Class shock absorbers

Hi Bros! Need some advise on where to change shock absorbers for my W169 A Class.

 

My car shock absorbers are squeaky when I go over humps. Car has done around 80,000km. I brought to C&C for regular servicing and they want to charge me $180 to check the shock absorbers (just to check and not do anything!).

 

They also said my undercarriage could be in bad condition and the shock absorbers could cost up to $10K to replace - naturally I declined, sounds way too expensive.

 

Any suggestions on where else I can go? Thanks in advance.

maybe try stockist for the shocks and do it outside, replacing the shock should be a fairly simple job for established garages..(correct me if im wrong)

 

or else, grab a set of coilovers..

if 10k i change car liao...i bought my shocks fr a stockist in jln pemimpin.....

i tell u the parts r cheap n labour reasonable if u do outside......

Thanks for the replies. Given the kind of prices I was quoted, I will be sending it outside. Is Autobacs ok, or any particular shop specializing in Mercedes that you guys recommend?

I'm a newbie and I am facing the same issue. Guess its wear and tear. Mine is serving its last year before i decide whether to scrap or continue coe by dec2016. Was thinking of 2nd hand but have no idea where i should look it up at.

 

Any recommendation on whether i should change (new or recon)? If yes, how should i go about doing this?
