Hi just a general question

For those under CAT A but more than 130bhp. Do you get to renew on CAT A on renewal or will it be shifted to CAT B?

I think it will remain as CAT A. I think it's cool for those C class owners last time to know that their CAT A commands a CAT B price since its reclassified

Based on LTA will shift to CAT B.

So for say 1.4T with 160bhp, registered in 2008, renew CAT-A?

i cannot find conclusion for in this thread yet.

Thank you.

It depends on when it was first registered. Before feb2014, it's the old rules.

Guess if the 2008 1.4t car is registered as CatA then, renew CoE will be based on PQP of CatA...

Unless you intend to specifically ask LTA your 1.4T is 160hp, how ah can do CatB renewal? Just do it... if you are LTA person in charge of Coe renewal, would you ask for payment of PqP, and what will your reply if asked on this?

I guess we got the answer from here. Look at number 4.

From my understanding. It does not reclassified your vehicle class. If u registered your vehicle as cat A (below 1.6cc above 130bhp) before 2014 feb. It remains as cat A when renewal
