Car key problem

Been away for a few months and on return my car key won't unlock the car doors when I press the buttons.

Neither will my wife's key unlock the doors.

Security light flashes in car when I press the button to unlock.

Car doors unlock manually but then indicator lights flash for a while.

Indicator lights flash for a while when I lock the door manually.

Tried changing the battery in the key fob but still cannot unlock doors.

Any quick easy solution for this??

Everything was working OK before we went away for a few months and on similar occasions when we've been away had no problem with the locking..

With the drivers door open, press and hold the UNLOCK button until the security light flashes goes away. Dan try to lock/unlock using your remote again....make sure all doors are closed.

You need to tell us what is the car brand and model. And also if this is after-market china system.

Every system got slightly different way to programme and behave leh....

And anyway, you can get in using the physical key to unlock right?

An aged battery would be totally drained without charging after a few months while a new, fully charged battery might be only half drained. When car door was manually opened it set off the car alarm that was indicated by flashing. If battery is not able to be charged externally, replace it.

Car battery is fine key fob batteries are fine.

Car brand is shown in thread title stuff but is an 8 yo Toyota Altis.

I can unlock 'manually' but get flashing of indicator light for up to 30 secs or so.

On some aftermarket alarm system, sometimes the key frequency may have drifted slightly off.

That would need a retune.

If your key fob have some tuning coil or capacity, you can try adjusting that first.

The other fault may be the control or wire going to the door locks.

unwind driver window, lock it manually.

unlock manually on the inside of the driver's seat.

Car alarm will trigger there after a few secs, then stop alarm sound from your remote to pair again !!!???

That is confirm some after market china keyless installed by Borneo. I believe is the one with peanut shaped remote control?

As some other bros have suggested, go back to them to ask for retuning of frequency.
