Foreign Driving Record Be considered for local NCD

I am a foreigner who had bought a car in Singapore.

I have with me more than 25 years of driving experience in Europe and Asia.

I asked that AIG to consider my driving record back home and not start me with 0% NCD

I am not expecting to have 50% off NCD but to jump start at least 10%

But I was disappointed to hear that AIG say NO .....

Any suggestion, opinion or thoughts to share ??

Same here ... I have been driving in the UK (verifiable data) for approx 12-13 years with full 50% NCD but they did not consider it!

My take is that the NCD risk is shared amongst the companies here so everyone will honour each other's NCDs.

can try other insurance company,

most probably can, but you have to provide your other country NDC evidence

you need a letter from your insurance company stating how much NCB you are entitled to.NTUC will most likely accept. if you do not have any NCB , you cannot expect them to give you something

I started on 20% based on foreign record

If I recall was MSIG

Had to get a letter from my previous insurance company stating record

I posted a few links in other post by TS.. goggle reveals directasia, Aviva and NTUC which will consider NCD from foreign countries... there should be a few others too

so if AIG is not willing to consider, either speak to someone more senior or change insurer next year

as stated by other forummers. u can look for ins coy that is willing to consider your overseas records. when one of my family members canbe back from australisa, he managed to get 50% ncd from aviva based on his ncd in aussie. so it is possible. im sure cos i did it for him.
