Lane go straight n turn left. Car signal left far ahead, turning left, motor go straight and rear ended car on back left of the car. Car owner can claim motor owner insurance?

But according to BOLA barometer of liability agreement, except that the motorcyclist hit you at rear center, else you are 100% wrong... Is there such thing?

if not the motorbike can say your friend was on the adjacent lane then suddenly eat into the left lane to turn left, and that's when he hit the car.

My encounter was slightly different from yours. Similarly straight-left lane, I wanted to go straight, but suddenly got motorcycle cut from my right to left.. It was an old uncle who was very apologetic and suffered some bruises. Can't bear to claim from him.. Somemore stayed behind and make sure he can continue riding before I go.. My damage? Small dent and chipped paint, but didn't regret after that.

if got video to prove and the motorbike rider is not old uncle and the attitude of the rider is not good, claim gao gao.

Got camera, sure can claim. No camera, then depends on how honest the motorcyclist is.

hmm...like i have mentioned in other threads previously .... back camera is actually more important than front camera...to catch these idiots who dont observe proper road regulations and etiquette. hope yr friend has good cam and capture the evidence, then claim the motorcyclist gao gao till tng kor

 

last nigtht on the way home, i encountered a lorry road hogging the middle lane. overtook him on the right and a quick glance confirmed the idiot was very slow as he was looking at his hp,,,looked like foreign worker driving his fellow workers back to hostel. horned my usual warning of such idiots and slowed enought to capture him still road hogging...still contemplating whether to submit video evidence to TP for traffic violations

It happened to me once that a motorcycle hit my car rear when coming to a stop at traffic lights. He pleaded with me to let the matter go, and I did. Because he seem poor thing and apologetic. How much damage can a motorcycle cause to a car anyway.

I am not saying the driver is at fault but Sometimes can't blame a rider for not accepting full liability. He can be at fault but if he accept, the car would go to ws n be charged for lost of use and maybe some inspection. All these for a small dent n maybe panel respray. If you try asking the repair cost for it as a private repair the cost is way lower. By thousands. This is unfair business practise.

 

If you ask me, dun even need to ask ws to claim gao gao, it is a given.

 

For what it is worth, I was told by a ws that does repair that it is very difficult to claim from motors.

Good deed. We need more forgiving drivers on the road like you. I was once rear end by a young malay guy at low speed. And he was saying sorry sorry that he did not sleep whole night. Took particulars and discovered that he was writing my car number n contacts on his mom photocopied death cert. Saying that his mom pass away last night that why he was tired and never noticed I brake. I told him becareful when riding and tell him no need to pay me for the damages. End up my bill comes to 500 for my repair.

Good deed. We need more forgiving drivers on the road like you. I was once rear end by a young malay guy at low speed. And he was saying sorry sorry that he did not sleep whole night. Took particulars and discovered that he was writing my car number n contacts on his mom photocopied death cert. Good deed. But there are still some  A.H which want to benefit from it and claim gao gao. If they can afford cars why they want to ride bike under sun n rain. Be graceful on the road pls..

I have seen BOLA barometer of liability before but never noticed anything with regards to the part where the car is 100% wrong if the motorcyclist hit you anywhere except the center.

 

This, to me is quite nonsensical. I mean there could be scenarios whereby the motorcyclist is dreaming and didn't paid attention to the car in front etc

 

Please check with the workshop or your friend insurer to find out more. Best if he has video evidence.
