Assuming proper maintenance is done.

I unsure if 4 / 5 / 6 speed n 8 / 9 speed belong to same cat, thus the separate cat.

With today's technology it's down to driving patterns and drivers' input. To me hardware alone cannot say for sure, the gearbox software plays a part too.

As for dual clutch gearboxes they are still in its infancy in automobiles although they have a history on boats. It still needs fine tuning for its hardware and software.

Yeah its the best for.........failures.

From engineering point of view the CVT is as fragile as the DCT.

Always a price to pay to save fuel...if you want to burn more money then stick with a slushbox.

Most reliability is 7 speed dry-clutch DCT... can't go wrong with that combi

Assume above is sacarsm? (Actually the worst combination - at least based on previous incidences of problems)

yes, 7 speed DCT rocks.. nothing shifts better than that when it is working

haha,

car going to VCS for another round of fixing, shifting from 1 to 2 will have shock.
