Noticed that along Church Street on many mornings, 2 SOC Ang Chia will be parked at the side of the road.

Why do they keep turning up there? Seen them on many a mornings.

They were also always deployed outside somerset station.

Just a week back, I saw them performing guard duty outside the mrt entrance.

Weekly evening appearance at HV vicinity as well. Also helicopters overhead along MBS / RWS stretch to Bedok jetty area due to heightened alert when terrorists struck in france etc recently. Nice view.

I saw them there too, after the attack in France.

Strangely, I feel less safe when I see a show of force like this in Singapore. Usually, Singapore's security is mostly invisible, unless at certain big events.

The first time I went to Manila, I thought, "Wow, they have guards at the entrances to malls checking people's bags and we had to pass through the metal detector!" After speaking to friends there, I realised that they did that precisely because it wasn't secure / safe, and that it wasn't too hard to get a gun there.

Yes, there are petty crimes in Singapore, and the occasional scuffles, or as the police will call them, "affray", but on the whole, we're pretty secure. So, seeing a show of force might be reassuring to some, but to me, it feels as if it is less secure / safe.

I often see these vehicles parked outside SGX Centre.
