13177 Supersonic December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 GrabCar drives passenger to Republic Poly — somehow ends up in motorcycle lane at Woodlands Checkpoint This GrabCar driver made the most epic mistake when he picked up a passenger heading to Republic Polytechnic. He somehow ended up at Woodlands Checkpoint — in the motorcycle lane, no less. According to the Twitter user who posted a picture of the car in the motorcycle lane on social media, the driver was apparently following the GPS, but he missed a turn. Of course, people in the vicinity couldn't resist snapping photos of the out-of-place car in the motorbike lane. Finally, the officers opened the exit gate for the vehicle and checked the ICs of both the driver and the passenger. Two whole hours later, the GrabCar finally reached its original destination: Republic Polytechnic.
UncleAtas Turbocharged December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 My understanding is that all GRAB and UBER cars must be below 10 years old to qualify. Half correct, half wrong. COE cars are still able to be used for PH. Subject to approval by respective coy. Need to bring down the car for them to inspect the condition of the car. If get $1K gross a week, excl rental, petrol, might not be worth the trouble. If get $1K nett a week, worth the effort. Concur. My nett per week was ard 1.1k. Im doing part time and only when im free.. Rental is cheap.
Vinceng Turbocharged December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 Uncle, Your case is an exception , rather than the norm, to get $1.1K nett income weekly driving part time. Many Uber and Grab drivers tell me they are going to give up driving after the car lease contract is over. Some who used to be driving taxis said they will go back to rent from the taxi companies. Fcw75 Hypersonic December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 (edited) A sucker is born everyday. Was one of them too. One give up, another one will join due to the incentive until they find out the true 'smell'. And the cycle repeat again. Kopites Supersonic December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 You sure? Can post the Source here?I concur. Saw a vios (sgb...), wish(sgb) using as PH. The other day saw a latest model Mazda 3 as well. Half correct, half wrong. COE cars are still able to be used for PH. Subject to approval by respective coy. Need to bring down the car for them to inspect the condition of the car. Concur. My nett per week was ard 1.1k. Im doing part time and only when im free.. Rental is cheap. My football kakis over at coffee team told me PH drivers pretty hard times. They generally need to work the peak hours period so as to earn. Office hours mostly disappeared. Btw thatkakis of mine is a full time taxi driver. Vinceng Turbocharged December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 (edited) There's a new GRAB programme circulating now. Guaranteed to earn $6,800 for month for 12 consecutive months. Peeked at the T&C in detail and realised that to achieve this, you got to drive from 0600hrs to 2359hrs. That's a continuous grueling 18 hours. Can a human reasonably & safely survive driving 18 hours daily, 7 days a week for 12 months, to earn that monthly $6,800 gross income (before deducting rental, petrol and GRAB 20% commission)? UncleAtas Turbocharged December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 For those FT drivers under contracts usually will drive more than 12hrs to break even. Because they have to absorb the full rental per day. While for my case, I am a part time and only rent when I needed. My 12hr online can earn on avg $240 before rental & petrol. Rental - $30 Petrol - $35 before 19% discount. FT have more to lose if they don't drive more than 12hrs. That is why, more FT drivers are throwing keys. Guess these drivers follow GPS blindly and they have no idea where they are going?! The irony of people plying into a trade which they have no knowledge about. Even the maps available online are not reliable. That is why I hate drivers from the most right lane stopping in the middle of traffic and trying to filter to the extreme left. No sense of road courtesy.
