honda1st 1st Gear December 18, 2015 Author Share December 18, 2015 thus far, only in Qoo10.sg, i've a few lobangs to install which i can recommend if you want. But i'm more concerned on the quality of the cam. things like will it be overheated in our hot humid weather? any issues on the voltage cut-off? Mercury1 Turbocharged December 18, 2015 Share December 18, 2015 Ultimately there is only one way to know which is try and buy. My take is - If you intend to install yourself and plug into the cig lighter (use only when driving) can consider trying, worse case spoil liao then take out and install another one/brand. Easy fuss freww - If you intend to get a pro installer and link it up for constant surveillance buy something more reliable, even branded camera with constant recording fail in hot conditions so why try on something unproven. Not to mention the trouble of getting the installer to strip it out and reinstall a new one. Cost savings not worth the effort and hassle. Read from various forums on the pro/con of reputable brand. Just saw another one which was highly rated and it's not made in Korea but Taiwan. Might want to try out as ebay is selling $318 for the latest model LS460.
Mercury1 Turbocharged December 18, 2015 Share December 18, 2015 Pleasure, everyone is here to learn also anyway me included Recently I asked a installer on pricing for a Iroad V9 (Iroad hearsay is pretty good) which came out to be about 500 with install. So just use that as a benchmark when comparing with other camera + install https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/iroad-v9-2ch-x-1080p-sony-cmos-wifi-gps-bdp-24-7-parking-quad-core-cortex-a31.12016/ Currently I use Lukas LK7900 & Blackvue DR550, I would say the Lukas has a better design running less hot but the Blackvue has not failed me so far. Note the Lukas has operating temp of -30˚C to 90˚C As for the LS460 it appears to have decent reviews but the operating temperatures are slightly lower compared to other competitors (i,e Blackvue) at -20°C to 65°C, but it uses an SD card which I like Here's a link to camera comparison site, hope you find the camera that fits your needs. http://dashboardcamerareviews.com/best-dash-cams-of-2015/ Thanks for the advice bro. Achtung 6th Gear December 18, 2015 Share December 18, 2015 I totally agree with u. I have spent cheap bucks on some and it lasted short! Those that I paid in excess of 450 bucks... lasted me YEARS! Weewee1976 3rd Gear December 19, 2015 Share December 19, 2015 Why not consider Itronics since buying from Qoo10? The price is relatively cheap. My 2 Itronics have been with me for 3+ years (1st one and 2nd one 2+ years) and it's still running fine. Front one on Powermagic running 24x7 some more/

Steptronic Supercharged December 19, 2015 Share December 19, 2015 if expensive ones have 1 problem, the cheaper ones will have 10 problems in the same period. You say that but from my reading of all the dash cams on here there is not one stand out and not one without problems. But, the important thing is to save you at the right moment! Both more than 1 year and never failed me. But i prefer the non wifi one. Bro, so i assume u r not using the parking mode since powermagic supposed to avoid battery discharge. Any particular reason(s) why u still prefer non-wifi? thought wifi does provide the conveniences of viewing the car cam videos via your mobile phone? Any particular reason(s) why u still prefer non-wifi? thought wifi does provide the conveniences of viewing the car cam videos via your mobile phone? The non wifi version even though older version has better video quality for some reason. Not sure if it is due to the diff video compression which also gave it smaller file size for the same setting. I have both wifi and non wifi so I can compare the videos directly and it is quite obvious. But the wifi video still acceptable. Of cos, it has wifi which is convenient. ↡ Advertisement
