While waiting for traffic to clear before going into parallel parking lot, this Audi SKN8586U started reversing to the lot despite sounding my horn and left indicator light.

I moved slightly forward and sounded my horn continuously to warn him off.

He opened his car doored and signalled for me to move back! WTF!

Then he purposely bump his car into my stationary car before moving forward.

He got out of his car and expects me to move back for him to park.

Told him I'm waiting for traffic to clear and he started scolding me.

After he went back to his car, he opened his door and shouted for me to go back to China. LOL.

I am a true blue Singaporean born and educated in Singapore.

These are the westerners who think they own the world!

No head no tail. Are u 2 fighting over the same lot? If not, sounds strange to me for parallel lot what u mean by clear traffic? He is ahead of u, he needs to park. If u need clear traffic, then u need to let him park. No?

The lot is on Jalan Sultan (towards Victoria St.) and I waited for a few minutes for the lot to be available.

He came from behind me.

You have to see the video to understand.

Anyone can advise how to attach video? I tried to attach but got error message that I am not allowed to attach the file. <4MB file.

From the video, its pretty obvious that you were waiting for the lot for sometime and he just tried to cut in and take it. A real ar*ehole.

No sound on the video. But if it were me, the minute he stop in front I would already slam my horn non-stop liao.

IMO, you took a little too long to even cover the lot to prevent such an event from happening.

you just keep your steering wheel straight, roll forward slowly and people on the next lane will just go past. if you keep waiting for clear traffic, you'll never park because the traffic along that road is always quite heavy.

Separately, you might wanna file a claim against him for reversing into you if the damage is severe enough.

Thanks.

Edited post to include youtube link.

Just submit your video to the workshop who's helping you doing the claim / repair and let them handle from there.

The trick to choping a parking lot is to slowly move towards the front of the lot as soon as the lot is clear. Others will be clearer about your intention even if you're just inching forward in congested traffic. By staying stationery (even if with hazard lights on), the AM may think that you're merely stopping rather than wanting to park. I'm just being forgiving that the AM may not be familiar with our carpark etiquette. Seems like there's sufficient space for you to inch forward as the Audi can reverse within the same space. The key is to give a clear signal that you're going for the lot.

Choping parking lot is a very competitive business. Do not wait too long for all the stars to align before making your move. You can rant and do nothing or you can review your experience and never let this happen again.

P/s: I only got one parking lot being "snatched" away under my nose donkey years back. I've never make the same mistake ever again.

U confuse him also, once the pick-up moved off, u shd move ahead to "block" the lot. This is telling others that "chopped" this lot already. Provided that u must also switched on the hazard light.

Send this clip to ur workshop to claim him if there is any damage to ur bumper.

Seriously, If I'm the cam driver, I don't need to wait, the moment lorry out, I move forward and park in already... Don't see tge need to wait for clearer traffic since the amount of gap is sufficient... Anyway, am an arshole to keep forcing his way in..
