Yesterday report from BBC news.

The alarming threat of Zika virus

By James Gallagher Health editor, BBC News website

  • 21 January 2016
  • From the section Health

The Zika virus, an alarming and disturbing infection that may be linked to thousands of babies being born with underdeveloped brains, is spreading through the Americas.

Some areas have declared a state of emergency, doctors have described it as "a pandemic in progress" and some are even advising women in affected countries to delay getting pregnant.

_77207535_464x2.jpg Where did Zika come from?

Identified in Uganda in 1947, previous outbreaks were confined to a few small areas in Africa, South East Asia and the Pacific Islands.

But, in May 2015, it was reported in Brazil.

And it has since been reported in:

  • Colombia
  • El Salvador
  • French Guiana
  • Guatemala
  • Haiti
  • Honduras
  • Martinique
  • Mexico
  • Panama
  • Paraguay
  • Puerto Rico
  • Suriname
  • Venezuela

How dangerous is it?

Deaths are rare and only one in five people infected is thought to develop symptoms.

These include:

  • mild fever
  • conjunctivitis (red, sore eyes)
  • headache
  • joint pain
  • a rash

There is no vaccine or drug treatment, with patients advised to rest and drink plenty of fluids.

But the biggest concern is the impact it could have on babies developing in the womb and the surge in microcephaly.

It is when a baby is born with an abnormally small head, as their brain has not developed properly.

The severity varies, but it can be deadly if the brain is so underdeveloped that it cannot regulate the functions vital to life.

Children that do survive face intellectual disability and development delays.

It can be caused by infections such as rubella, substance abuse during pregnancy or genetic abnormalities.

Brazil had fewer than 150 cases of microcephaly in the whole of 2014, but there have been about 4,000 since October.

The link with Zika has not been confirmed, but some babies who died had the virus in their brain and no other explanation for the surge in microcephaly has been suggested.

We live in a primitive time, don't we, Will? Neither savage nor wise. Half measures are the curse of it; any rational society would either kill me or put me to some use.

Nothing to do with mosquitoes:
http://www.jimstone....ist.</b></span>

This "shrunken brain" issue in newborns was just suddenly in Brazil as if someone flipped a switch, and the only way that could reallyhappen is via the sudden arrival of a new brain destroying Tdap vaccine, which all pregnant Latin American women are strongly encouraged to get before week 22 of pregnancy. This sudden occurrence of shrunken brains perfectly matches the probable arrival of the real culprit - a tainted Tdap vaccine, which if administered in May (when this virus supposedly arrived) would be causing precisely the shrunken newborn baby brain problems Brazilians are having now, right on schedule.

The claim is that a mosquito naturally carried this disease across almost all of South and Central America in only six months. This defies all logic because mosquitoes have a life cycle that is too long for immediate propagation and won't fly more than a mile from where they hatch, which would limit the movement of a totally new disease to a mile or so a month, not 30 miles a day. A continent wide outbreak of a totally new virus is not the same thing as an outbreak of malaria, which is already everywhere and only needs the correct conditions to bring it forward.

I think this mosquito is only confined to an immediate area of 1 mile is quite an outdated statement.

Mosquitoes can migrate significant distances. it's just that some breeds choose not to especially if they usually used to biting humans near where they are hatched.

Well for us, the advice is simple. Women shouldn't step into latin america for now.

tiko virus is a very very strong virus

there is no cure

to maintain the host's normalcy, the tiko virus must be allowed to erupt, if not, the virus will cause the host's momentary outburst of sexual violence and do all kinds of bad stuff, which normally he wont do

now, among different hosts, the tiko virus has a varied life cycle, usually, depends on age

usually action shots are extremely hard to capture in high quality

it is only possible in flash photography

flash photography allows extrememly high quality photos to be taken in even the most impossible 1/25000 of a second at iso 400 and F8

so fast, you can take a picture of a speeding bullet

now, for the tiko virus, because of its inherent nature to infect more hosts, it needs to be extremely fast, if not how to tear piak shoot insai

that's why must get about 69 flashes, to capture the action
