Was contacted to make rest of the payment, awaiting for SE to collect cheque from me. Have test driven the new Subaru Impreza 5D recently... Pretty keen to get this car when my COE runs out in a few months' time... :) Did not feel the slight jerk you mentioned so can't comment there. Shouldn't happen considering you need to be stepping on the brakes when you start the car. And even then with the gear in park, the gearbox wouldn't be engaged for the car to jerk. Also, Boot space is definitely bigger in the 5D, with the opening way better than many models out there. Can see this vid for a rough gauge on space for the 5D. Pretty keen to get this car when my COE runs out in a few months' time... :) Should not have jerk but Subaru boxer engines do start with rumble and a slight shake typical of this engine. Most reviewers like the rumble of the boxer engine. Though it gives a slight shake when it starts, once it gets going, the engine is smoother than normal engines as the opposing pistons cancel each other's vibration.
