Anyone attended the Kia Beyond Experience today at the Alexandra showroom?

 

Got to see the new Sportage and try out Kia cars in a closed circuit slalom course!

 

Quite fun whacking the car around the slalom!

 

Hope can win the Optima for a year too!

Disappointed with the trim of new Sportage.

Yes quite fun when driving in the circuit, albeit too short and too fast.

Ang mo give direction too slow, missed some turns.

Not look cheap but for sure dont look luxury. (wasnt expecting luxury though)

Disappointed with the current trim. No memory seat, no electrical seat, Hand handbrake, no roof at all, humo in second row higher than previous gen, no "ice cube" lamps etc.

And the selling price...

It's funny how they brought the Sorento and Carens to the circuit... Those aren't built for this kinda event...

the event was well run as the cars tested still had quite a number of participants who never really caught up with car technology and was amaze that the car could handle well without overturn.

 

Question ask was .. wah so risky, sportage CG so high yet never topple.

 

Was waiting for the instructor to politely response that traction control is now available in singapore market where previously was under cutting the OMV to sell cheap cars.

 

The only time you would topple is IF you turn at idiotic speed and bobo hit curb.

you only making the car loose its actual role.

 

KIA and hyundai are more like cars is to refrigerators and washing machines. 

 

Its a utilitarian appliance ... unless they bring in the turbo charge variant, then its totally different.

 

Was also amaze that people dont read the TnCs of the 10 year warranty.

 

You have to service your car at the dealer or going to get tricky for a warranty replacement.

 

Its a good brand but just not the ones you take to the track. Reliability is good . steering feel can best describe as woody, worst case description is steer like a motor boat

They just wanna bring awareness to the brand lah

 

Even the "ballot" to get the spot to go for the experience is actually them picking their target market to attend the Sportage "launch"

 

Even Audi got their driving experience event going...

 

Give it to them lah, they're trying!
