It's not the badge, it's the design and possibly where it's made.

These countries are building for low, low-end market.

You have to cut corners and safety is one of them.

If you don't crash it, you don't know how survivable it is.

India is among a handful of emerging automobile markets including Thailand, Mexico and Indonesia which don’t have sufficient safety regulations in place

Twincharged

These Models are for Indian Market only, these cars are based on very old late 70's or early 80's Japanese Chassis[that time most Japanese cars are known as Milo cans] [thumbsdown] ......Cheap is the only word for these cars...so no safety features like Airbags or ABS are offered...these models together with their own Tata Nano are for Villagers 'upgrade' from motorcycles to Cars...

there are more than 100,000 deaths on the roads of India every year.

When my parents went to India, I was really worried when they went to visit Taj Mahal which requires a road trip.

I tend not to cast too judging a eye on these folks. This is probably as much as they can afford and they really don't know any better.  -_-

Terrible cars. Terrible safety requirements and standards. Terrible infrastructure.

Probably the only thing saving lives inspite of the above shitty issues is the chronic traffic jams and average low speeds in inner cities.
