Liverpool supporters, I mean the real ones, are seriously and dangerously optimistic. Their key spiritual immortals are in the spirit of Bill Shankly whose infamous quotes lives on. If you are second you are nothing. The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game. Unquote. Every club goes through ups and downs. Many reasons like ownership changes, financial management quality and most important of all is the quality of coach on the pitch. For example, the end of the Alex Ferguson era some 3 years ago sees the decline of Man United as a powerful and feared footballing club, the key factor is of course the coach despite humongous spending on new players. Liverpool's footballing performance was erratic and mirrors the financial performance after David Moore sold out the 50 year old family treasure to Tom Hicks and George Gillet on a leveraged buyout in 2007. Things seem to stabilize after Fenway Sports Group took over the club from 2010 onwards.After that the rest is a story you know best, a story of hope and optimism whenever a new coach after Rafa Benitez was put in place starting with Roy Hodgson and now we have Klopp. Only thing left is to give Klopp time to put his act together.
