Jubilong 2nd Gear December 10, 2016 Share December 10, 2016 Opel's resale value has, and will continue to be, no different from the other lower-tier conti brands like Ford, Citroen, Renault, Peugeot and VW. Agreed so buy a car where dealer profit margin is the lowest so you don't get screwed too badly. Eg. I also compared the VW golf variant with this tourer price then 1.4Golf variant $135k,CEVS 10k, cat A, lower OMV 1.4 Opel tourer $117k, CEVS 5k, cat B, higher OMV You can see how high is VW margin. Thought Golf price is below 110k (unless you are talking about GTi which is a totally different beast)

Sabretan 4th Gear December 12, 2016 Share December 12, 2016 just an update for those still driving their Zafira B 1.8 MTA model. You should call up AG to ask them about the recall that was due to this model catching fire in UK due to failure of the air con resistor pack. Basically they will replace your air con control resistor pack for free. As for the service of AG, price wise, definitely mmmm typical AD price. but the quality of their service has been improving base on my own experience, definitely better than under TE. Drivingbirdie 1st Gear December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 Calculation of the basic car cost of the Astra 1.0 shows that the AD margin is about 18k per vehicle (before overheads) due to the hefty CEVS rebate of 15k. (???) The Altis Elegance at 103k seems to be a better value even though it has a higher upfront cost... There's also only 53 used Opels on sale on SGCarMart compared to the 1600+ Toyotas. Even Ferraris have more than 60. Could this mean high future repair cost and long lead time due to lack of spare parts or competent technicians? Dilemma. I really like the Astra and overseas reviews of it are very very good, but I'm finding it difficult to justify. No flaming please, first time buyer so have a lot to consider. ↡ Advertisement
