Probably the parts/workshop fees cost more of a bomb then anything in USA.

Apparently the European brands need a lot of special tools which makes it very expensive for the workshop to set up.

The american brands in the top 10 are just unreliable haha.

I think Consumer report of car complaints went something like this, from least to worst

1) Toyota

2) Lexus

3) Audi

4) onwards is Kia, Mazda, Subaru

Then it's Hyundai, Honda/Acura then after that is ? Nissan

BMW/Merc are in the middle of the pack. The american brands start appearing also in the middle of the pack.

The bottom of the pack are all the american manufacturers and Fiat

Jeep is one of the worst brands.

This one is the combined car brands which make the best vehicle report

This is not a local table. If locally I would rank proton the lowest in repair cost follow by mitsubishi, Toyota, Honda hahaha

In taiwan I would tank Nissan the lowest follow by Toyota. Hahaha

That is why one table can only apply on local context not globally.

Oohhhhh, din know maintenance dun include replacement of kaput gearboxes LOL

Cause gearbox still under warranty, so no charges, it will be a different story if this list is base on number of hours spent for maintenance.

The chart accurate not? Lexus not cheap. I heard one time servicing is in 1k zone. And their service is 10k per service, not 15k per service. If taking into account breakdown and replace parts, then I agree BMW FTW!

this is USA chart, i presume over there the stealerships can't get away with carrot-head servicing prices coz they can't happily void warranty one.

Neutral Newbie

I am considering to buy a 2nd hand vehicle. Looking at Nissan X-Trail vs Toyota Wish. Any comments?

Servicing Cost?
Maintenance Cost?
Durability over long run?

BMW tops list for customers' gripes about car defects

I think maintenance costs, reliability and manufacturing defects are all slightly different issues but I will not be surprised if BMW is top in each different category.
