RadX Moderator July 8, 2016 Share July 8, 2016 Any feedback or reviews on where the deals are? ease of use? For me ApplPay is easy, fuss free and pay by the thumbprint recognition. Seamless Have yet to register my other android devices for the rest but welcome reviews. ↡ Advertisement

UOB not included Andriod Pay seems not that secure...too easy? Unlike Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, no fingerprint or PIN authentication is required for each Android Pay transaction. You do not even need to unlock the phone. http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/how-android-pay-is-different-from-samsung-pay-and-apple-pay Edited July 8, 2016 by Dankoo

Jellandross Supersonic July 8, 2016 Share July 8, 2016 I'm on Samsung Pay. On the contactless side, it's pretty much similar to other solutions. The magic happens when you're paying at some merchants who do not have the NFC-based contactless terminal. Payment is still possible by holding the samsung phone close to the traditional magnetic stripe reader. Samsung phone can generate the magnetic field needed for the reader. That's their competitive differentiator. I surprised a few merchants when I "tapped" my phone on their magnetic reader and they go "wah seh.. can do this ah?!?!". Maybe not so obvious in SG but in countries where NFC terminal is uncommon, this feature is a big deal. I feel that Android Pay is way too unsecured as there's no authentication needed. A fingerprint authentication nowadays does not add too much inconvenience but makes a whole load of difference for security. Loss of phone is also a major concern as whoever picks it up can immediately pay with your phone without unlocking as far as i understand. But the lobangs offered by banks for Android Pay is better though. maybe google got better marketing power.

Seamless Have yet to register my other android devices for the rest but welcome reviews. Started using Samsung pay last week. early morning went NTUC to use first time, among first 500 so samsung is supposed to send me a free power bank... Stanchart claims they are giving 20% rebate, capped at $50. After yesterday, dunno will still give or not? Quite easy to use, but can't compare with Apple pays cos no iPhone. >$100 must still sign. <$100 just tap can already.
Nzy Twincharged July 8, 2016 Share July 8, 2016 (edited) Android pay most convenient. Android pay also can use on most phones with NFC except for iphones. Even managed to get Android pay to work on my rooted phone. Whereas all the other payment methods require me to unroot my phone. IMO, out of all three, Android pay is less secure. But still better than normal credit cards with flashpay/paywave. Credit card with flashpay also no other authentication. Lose wallet, and the person who has it can just use your card anywhere with NFC. Whereas for Android pay, it seems like every 4th transaction will require you to unlock the phone before it can work again. Only the first 3 no need to unlock phone. Lala81 Hypersonic July 8, 2016 Share July 8, 2016 suaku. No interest. What's the difference between taking your phone out to tap vs taking a card out to paywave/paypass? Worst still if u switch off NFC to reduce battery drain. Like what some people say, Double side tape your card to your phone also can what

Taking your card out of your wallet out of your pocket. that is why online scammers love wechat? I think only accept China Bank account. W/o China Bank account, you need a fren with China Bank account to transfer $$$ to you. It is not that useful outside of China.
Jman888 Moderator July 8, 2016 Share July 8, 2016 samsung pay also need pin or thumbprint to unlock the card for scanning. i use that without turning on NFC. UOB though not with Samsung pay, it has its own app for NFC payment on android phone. ↡ Advertisement
