Feedback needed from Diesel Engine Car Owners

Would like to find out from current Diesel Engine car owners your feedback on reliability?

Is the maintenance cost high? So far any problem with your Diesel engine? DPF blocked? Any such encounter?

A little too early to tell as diesel cars only became more popular the past 2 years.

Maybe someone who owns a conti diesel van can comment, as the technology is closer to the cars on sale (small cc, FWD, Euro 5)

Twincharged

From what I heard from my neighbors who have diesel cars, reliability still ok. Not much difference from petrol but the sound very noisy. When new, its quiet and smooth. But 2-3 years later, their car sound noisy and got that clicking sound at idle. Most driving conti cars like merc, jag and peugot.

Same question I have in mind. Not sure these newer engines are same with those taxis and vans. They have been around for many years.

I am quite sure they will be noisy but more importantly, cost and getting pass our inspections. Diesel cars are very common in Europe.

need to take into account the additional diesel road tax. quite high iirc

think it's more worth for people with high mileage e.g more than 25k km a year etc.
