a subaru 2L turbo engine in CRV body

that gives a run of money to simi X3, Q5 and GLC

No reason to do that. Might as well put in their own current Honda Type R turbo engine.

Back then, many Hondas (including mine) water pump typically kaput after 6 years!

Vezel killer. Finally the Jap has small turbo engine.

Err the crv is much more spacious than the vezel. It's like comparing something that's a x5 size vs an x1 lol.

The next model Accord will follow suit 1.5L turbo soon.

Already announced the framework from Civic 10th Gen bring over to Accord.

Hopefully, a hybrid accord will be feasible in current market.

? There's already a hybrid accord.

140 bhp Atkinson cycle engine with electric motor.

Not very exciting lol. But apparently quite a mpg king.

2017-honda-cr-v-live-photos.jpg

http://www.motor1.com/news/101373/2017-honda-crv-official-photos/

At its core, the 2017 CR-V adopts a more powerful version of the Civic's 1.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Blessed with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque, it has 16 extra ponies and 17 extra torques on offer compared to the compact sedan. The flipside is that peak torque is available along a narrower part of the rev range, from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm instead of the Civic's broader 1,700 to 5,500 revs. This will be the standard engine on all but the very base CR-V, so Honda’s estimated 75-percent take rate makes sense.

Goodbye Qashqai , we got a new winner here.

Most probably Singapore import version will tune down 190 horse power due to hot weather, like Civic 1.5T China Version 177bhp, USA version 174bhp, Singapore Version 170bhp Edited by Quantum

Next generation Accord should be 2.0T, 280bhp/370Nm, will launch in China next month, started to receive order,

Its engine should be the best in this catagery, wins BMW, merc, Volvo, Audi, Subaru, VW hands down

Highly doubt Singapore will import the 2.0T Accord :a-noway:

So powerful? Don't think so lah.

The accord is more of a everyday driving car. The turbo is there to maximise FC and decent power. Power is not everything to the american market. The ford fusion has a much more powerful engine and the new chevy malibu has much more power than the camry and accord. But these 2 outsell the american models by huge margins.

The accord already costs more than it's rivals + KM doesn't tend to lower its margin further to sell more cars.

As such the accord is always more expensive than camry/teana. If it becomes more expensive, lol how to fight with the germans.

Already so few accords on the roads.

Though undeniably it's a better car than the 2 other japs.

And everyone wants a german badge nowadays lol.

wait ... is the new turbo charged CRV going to be assemble in Thailanb ?

Very likely. CRV is a super tough sell in JDM... too big and too americanized for the Jap old folks. JDM prefer vans and wagons if they need more space, not SUV... See how well the Stepwagon is selling over there?

It may be dropped from JDM after this generation. Hey whats wrong with Made in Thailand?

KM already drop the FL 2.4L Accord from local lineup, despite the 2.4L offering twin clutch trans and its a tech advanced model as compared to the base 2L model

I think with the Civic 1.5T, they may just drop the whole Accord nameplate from SG totally. The Civic is as big as the Accord and faster too. Specs is equally impresive.

You just buy the Legend if u want a lux Honda la... 3.5L Hybrid.... nice

yeah agreed.

Can't see any market in JDM. The CRV sells quite well in USA.

It's a good highway cruiser with decent mpg and it's very roomy.

Haven't tried the civic. Maybe one day will test drive it.

I'm ok with the power, responsiveness of my 2.0. Its an old generation engine by today standards but i still enjoy driving/revving it haha.

I really like the way my car rides/drives though its suspension is more comfort biased.

Fuel tank and horn.

I fully agree. Honda parts $$ are on the high side even if u buy from stockist...And TMD, their durability is a big question mark

For my ex-2008 FD1....me the only owner since day one, used for 7 yrs and ard 85000km at the pont of sale... these are the parts that broke/wear off.

-  5AT worn at ard 70000km. 2nd gear slipping and it eroded into 1st and 3rd gear. Didnt fix that too damn expensive to do so

-  3 sets of front disc rotors!. Original Honda disc rotors warped easily and frequently In the end, import aftermarket set of cross drilled/slotted disc rotors from Canada to solve the issues. Was paying alot for disc rotors....ridiculous

-  Worn rear wheel bearings at 60000+km... replaced.

-  Leaking shocks at ard 70000+km... front lower A arm bushing worn out. All replaced

-  All engine mountings...

-  Front wheel bearings. Didnt replace

-  Broken passenger side side visor! Yup, hardly used but the catch just broke off one day and the visor drooping on its ends. Replaced by 'stealing' from a junked FD. Hence difference color

-  Falling headliner cloth! Totally unacceptabe. None of my prev rides had this issue and it had to happen in my ex FD1... didnt bother with it. Just like it drop on my head lor.

-  Failing aircon compressor despite reg aircon svcs during every svcs. Didnt replace that

Note that I have always used top quality 0w-20 full syn oil since day one and I neve miss or skimp on reg svcs... yet all the shit above happened.

Made in Japan indeed

LOL. the Legend. Only if I'm a japanese regional director here in SG lol.

They will buy the Crown Majesta or Athete instead wor LOL
